2D1N in Alor Setar, Kedah 1. Masjid Al Bukhary - beautiful majestic mosque that gives me Taj Mahal vibes. Definitely worth a visit. 2. Masjid Zahir - magnificent architecture, very heritage, no wonder it is a Kedah state mosque. Right in the city centre, you can take beautiful photos outside the gate. 3. Wat Nikhrodaram - Thai Buddhist temple, went during Wesak Day so it's abit crowded. Beautiful building. 4. Rumah kelahiran Tun M - Surprise that this is free admission, the surroundings just recently got renovated. It is like a museum that filled with Tun M's achievements before he became our PM 5. Istana Kuning - Did not manage to enter: a unique yellow building just opposite the Menara Alor Setar 6. Menara Alor Setar - Right in front of Aman Central mall. There is a elevator to get to the top for the city view. RM7-8/adult ticket. 7. Paddy Museum - Entrance only RM3 for adults. It is located near Gunung Keriang, with huge spread of paddy field. Reminds me of Sekinchan. Interesting museum! 8. Gunung Keriang - Raining, so we missed out hiking session & cave exploration. Definitely going back there again. Proper parking place & food stalls. 8. Kilang Tebu Kaya Kok - before heading home, drop by pastry shop for souvenirs. Mouth-watering Kaya kok & Peanut Kok. Crunchy, flaky pastry skin which comes in mini versions too. RM9 for 10 pcs. The shop has only 4-5 parking spots, advise to go once it opens to get the freshest bakes or otherwise it's sold out! Alor Setar is about 2 hours drive from Penang Airport.
