Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region) A medium-distance trail suitable for all ages on the outskirts of Benidorm leads to an ancient watchtower built in the 17th century and used until the 19th century. In the past, the watchtower was used to monitor pirates and prevent the invasion of Berber pirates. It was half razed to the ground by the French during the Revolutionary War.
