Must-see attractions in Algiers:

1. Algerians are very welcoming and friendly to Chinese people. They'll even greet you with "Ni Hao" and may ask for a photo together. They are much kinder than people in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 2. The Grand Post Office in the city center is a great place to send postcards. It costs 40 dinars for two stamps to send a postcard back home (you can buy postcards at newsstands or in Bab Ezzouar; small ones cost 60 dinars, large ones 100 dinars, and they often feature classic Algerian scenes). Hopefully, they'll arrive! It's my first time sending an international postcard. 3. Take a stroll along the scenic coastal road by the Port of Algiers. The sea view is stunning, a beautiful blue. The Notre Dame d'Afrique basilica on the hilltop offers breathtaking panoramic views of Algiers—a must-visit. The Martyrs' Memorial is another iconic landmark. Opposite the memorial, there's a military museum for 20 dinars, which also has exhibits related to China. 4. The view of the sea and ships from afar is magnificent. The second floor of the Musée des Beaux-Arts offers a great view of the Jardin d'Essai. The museum houses numerous paintings, mostly depicting Algeria's struggle against French colonization. I met a very kind taxi driver who, upon learning I was going to the museum, joined me for the visit, saying it was his first time there too. He even translated and explained the meaning of each painting. One painting is from the film *The Battle of Algiers*, showing women hiding guns and bombs in their baskets—a film worth watching. 5. The Bardo National Museum, located in the city center, features a blend of Ottoman and traditional Arab architectural styles. It houses a rich collection of traditional costumes, handicrafts, and everyday objects from various regions. (P14 P15) The Palais du Rais, originally a significant military and administrative center and residence for noble officials, is located near the Casbah. 6. These white buildings look quite clean. No wonder Algiers is called the "White City." In the city center, I felt Algiers exuded a heightened sense of style, although there aren't many places to shop. The coastline across the street is worth a visit, offering fantastic views.
