Visiting Machu Picchu, the Inca ruins of Peru

It was a complicated and difficult journey from Dallas - Houston - Panama - Lima - Cusco - AguasCalientas. I took the bus and train IncaRail from Cusco to AguasCalientas, and took a village tour bus to the final destination, Machu Picchu. Because it was a high-altitude area reaching an altitude of 3,000 to 4,000 meters, I had difficulty breathing and suffered from altitude sickness, but once I arrived at the hidden ruins of the distant South American Andes that I had always wanted to visit, I could almost hear the sound of El Condor Pasa in my ears.
