The Yangjialing Revolutionary Site is the former site of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. It is located in the northwest of Yan'an City from November 1938 to March 1947. I just finished my trip from Yan'an, and the Wanda Hotels in Yan'an have completely changed my perception of hotels there. Today, let's mainly talk about the Wanda Meihua Hotel where I stayed in Yan'an City, along with Wanda Realm, Wanda Vista, and Wanda Meihua Hotels. These three hotels are all high-end hotels under Wanda Hotels & Resorts, located in the High-tech Zone of Yan'an City. The hotel features Chinese and Western restaurants, free parking, car rental and ride-hailing services, a gym, and a swimming pool, among many other star-rated hotel services. Day 1 The correct way to awaken your taste buds: I had just gotten off the train at noon and hadn't even reached the hotel yet, so I went to the train station to have a bowl of authentic lamb offal soup. I heard it was pretty good! Locals all come to eat here, but I usually don't tell just anyone. If you pass by a specialty store, you can pick up a few bags of dog-head jujubes. Friends who know Northern Shaanxi know that jujubes have the effect of replenishing qi and blood, offering comprehensive nutrition, and Yan'an's jujubes, in particular, are large and sweet. Friends who visit Yan'an must take some back to taste. Of course, there are also delicious fried cakes, fried buns, buckwheat noodles, grated potato dishes, and lamb noodles, among others. Perfect blend of lake view and cave dwelling style: After less than a 20-minute drive, we successfully arrived at the hotel. Upon arrival, there was professional luggage service and quick check-in. The staff were polite and enthusiastic. When I pushed open the door to my room, I was absolutely amazed! The elegant lake view was backed by mountains, and the cave dwelling style bed perfectly complemented the red elements. Besides family rooms and cave dwelling heated-bed rooms, there are over a dozen different room styles to meet the travel needs of various guests. Especially in the afternoon, accompanied by the sounds of summer insects, gazing at the mountains and lake, brewing a pot of tea in the room's small courtyard, it was truly leisurely and carefree. Day 2 A sunny and beautiful day for touring and shopping in Yan'an city: We woke up early on the second day, and breakfast at the hotel also impressed me. The Northern Shaanxi restaurant had distinct thematic colors, with Northern Shaanxi elements and dishes everywhere. There were characteristic Northern Shaanxi lamb soup and snacks, yet it also offered modern and Western dishes, instantly awakening my taste buds and making me unconsciously eat more. After breakfast, we visited Pagoda Mountain, Zaoyuan Revolutionary Base, and Yangjialing. Overall, they are relatively close, about 3 kilometers to the city center and shopping malls. Eating a bowl of lamb noodles near Pagoda Mountain in the evening was simply too comfortable! Precious memories with children: After a day of fun, we returned to the hotel. The hotel thoughtfully presented me with fruit and local snacks like jujube cakes. Then we went to the Wanda Realm Hotel's children's play area, swimming pool, and fitness center. It was rare for my child to really enjoy the children's play facilities prepared by the hotel; they were safe, clean, and hygienic. Afterwards, we went to the swimming pool, which has a shallow area (1.4m) and a deep area (1.6m), making it very friendly for both beginners and experienced swimmers. The water is circulated and purified, and the temperature is suitable. Then we went for a workout; the gym equipment was quite expensive and relatively new. Day 3 After waking up naturally, I went to watch the 'Return to Yan'an' performance opposite the hotel at noon, reliving the red memories of the older generation. The water screen waist drum at the end was a major highlight, and I believe it's a must-see performance when visiting Yan'an, perfectly concluding this three-day, two-night trip. Alright! Take the high-speed train from Xi'an to Yan'an for two and a half hours, and charter a car for two days. On the first day, go to Nanniwan and Shanxi Hukou Waterfall. On the second day, go to Wave Valley. If you are not very strong, you can take the small loop, but after this turnaround, you must take the large loop. We did not buy a ticket to walk on the glass bridge. It took about three hours to walk through the entire scenic area (large loop), including taking pictures. There are many different landforms in the entire scenic area, just like being on Mars. The recommended attraction is "One Line Sky". The whole road is very narrow, only enough for one person to pass, but you can take beautiful photos. The only drawback is that you can't go back. Another attraction is the rose in the "Time and Space Canyon", which is very photogenic. Return to the city of Yan'an and visit the former site of Lu Xun Academy of Arts and Literature. #打卡好去处

🌈 Liangshan Grottoes is part of the Qingliang Mountain Scenic Area and one of the four major grottoes in northern Shaanxi. What left a deep impression on me about these grottoes on this not-so-tall mountain wasn't just their high artistic value and excellent preservation, but also their fascinating "multiple identities". There are four grottoes in total, with the Ten Thousand Buddha Cave being the largest. Their "multiple identities" refer to the fact that besides being historical and artistic relics, this site also served as revolutionary heritage including the Central Printing Plant, Currency Printing Factory, Clinic, and Xinhua Bookstore. Perhaps it's precisely because of this "identity resume" that the grottoes have been preserved so intact. 🕐 Opening hours: April 1 - October 31: 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM November 1 - March 31: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM 🏝️ The scenic area gate is at the mountain base, while the grottoes are on the mountainside.
