Anyang, Henan|You only need 1 day to explore the Yinxu Scenic Area
Anyang Yinxu 1-Day Walking Tour Guide! A local’s hidden Shang and Zhou dynasty treasure spot🌿
As a travel enthusiast crazy about ancient civilizations, I finally checked in at Yinxu! 🌍 A World Cultural Heritage site + 5A scenic area, also the hometown of oracle bones and the Simuwu Ding. You can visit the new museum, ancestral temple, and royal tomb all in one day, with an amazing experience~
Detailed address and transportation guide: No.1 Yinxu Road, Yindu District, Anyang City, Henan Province📍 Super convenient if you’re not driving! There’s a shuttle bus at the west exit of the new museum, 5 minutes to the palace and ancestral temple ruins🚌 There’s also a scenic area bus from the ancestral temple to the royal tomb, 10 minutes direct, and the combined ticket includes the bus fare, very cost-effective~ For self-driving, navigate to “Yinxu Museum New Hall,” plenty of parking spaces, no worries about parking🚗
Scenic highlights: Head straight to the Yinxu Museum New Hall! Newly opened in 2024 with fewer crowds and a better experience✨ Daytime tickets are 80 RMB, and the first 2,000 visitors at night get in free (if you miss the free tickets, it’s only 40 RMB). Nearly 4,000 cultural relics, three-quarters of which are on display for the first time, are so stunning they leave you speechless!😭 It’s recommended to start from the 3rd floor and go down—bronze ritual vessels, oracle bone fragments, jade ornaments, each piece holds the Shang and Zhou dynasty secrets~ The 1st-floor cultural and creative area is great for shopping, and the coffee is unique too. After walking, having a cup is super relaxing☕ Then visit the palace and ancestral temple ruins; the 50 RMB combined ticket also includes the royal tomb, and you can finish in 2 hours~ Don’t miss Fuhao’s Tomb! The earliest female general’s tomb in China. Although there aren’t many exhibits, standing in front of the tomb pit gives a strong time-travel feeling👩⚔️ The YH127 oracle bone pit is amazing, with over 10,000 oracle bones piled together, truly a miracle of oracle bone studies🔍 Don’t miss the chariot and horse pits or the oracle bone stele forest, perfect for photos~ Finally, visit the royal tomb site, 1 hour is enough! The M260 large tomb is where the Simuwu Ding was found. Standing there and imagining the archaeological scene back then gives you goosebumps🤩
Other useful info: The new museum is open year-round, daytime 8:30-16:30, night tours 17:30-20:30 (arrive early for night tours to avoid queues)⏰ The palace and ancestral temple ruins are open 8:00-17:30 during the day, and night tours from Friday to Sunday cost only 19.9 RMB, very affordable~ The royal tomb site is open 8:30-17:30, no night tours yet🌙 The combined ticket offers the best value, covering the new museum + ancestral temple + royal tomb, much cheaper than buying separately🎫
Tips: Avoid pitfalls, take note!💡 The old museum no longer has exhibits, don’t go there empty-handed~ Many pits at the royal tomb have been backfilled, and the archaeological site is blocked off, so don’t expect too much, but definitely check out the Simuwu Ding discovery site! Don’t use flash photography on relics, wear comfortable flat shoes, so your feet won’t get tired after a day of walking👟 The night tour at the new museum has an amazing atmosphere, with lights shining on the relics, as if traveling back to the Shang dynasty~
In summary, Yinxu is really worth rushing to!📣 You can visit all the core attractions in one day, ancient civilization lovers will be ecstatic~ The address is No.1 Yinxu Road, Yindu District, Anyang City. If you come to Anyang, don’t miss it! Do you prefer visiting museums during the day or at night?
