Today, I'm sharing a list of Ho Chi Minh City attractions that are "one-day trips." I'm writing this diary for fun~🇻🇳❣️ Let's start with my trip with three friends, without a plan!! Even with a plan, we never follow it, haha. This time, I've summarized everything! If you're too lazy to read further, save this post! 👀 Ho Chi Minh City Museum: A museum dedicated to the war effort and the history of Saigon, or Ho Chi Minh City today. I'd say it's worth a visit for history lovers. My friend and I spent 45 baht to see it, and what we meant was to take photos. The architecture is so beautiful! We walked around and admired it all~ If you have a lot of time, you should definitely visit. The layout is quite well-organized. Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts: No matter where we go, we always find a place to enjoy art and see it like teenagers do. This is another place you shouldn't miss. They have everything from conservative to contemporary art, and they have a huge collection. The 45 baht entrance fee is definitely worth it. If you're a photography buff, don't miss this place. The architecture and the many photo spots are a must-see. Ho Chi Minh City Book Street is the place with the most mosquitoes in Vietnam. Just kidding!! This book street is a must-visit. It's right next to the Central Post Office. I personally love it because books in Vietnam are incredibly cheap. Anyone who visits Vietnam must bring a book home. This street makes me want to learn Vietnamese. It's so shady and full of trees. (Oh my gosh, the mosquitoes here are plentiful and fierce.) The New Playground: A must-visit for Y2K girls. This is the place to truly burn off your dong. This is the ultimate Y2K destination. Shop for clothes and accessories here! My friend and I went from tourists to disaster victims. 🥲 Katinat Saigon Kafe - Nguyen Du: This famous coffee shop has many branches, but I love the one at the District 1 intersection the most. Sit in front of the shop and watch the motorbikes whizz by and hear the horns playing from all directions. Now, back to the coffee shop. They have a wide variety of menus. But what really touched my heart was the Thai Tea, which is Thai tea in our country, but oh my, it's so delicious!! 😭😭 It's not too sweet, and it has a wonderful tea aroma. I'm hooked on Thai tea in Ho Chi Minh City. PHỞ 24 - 319 NGUYỄN TRI PHƯƠNG I came here following a review. My first meal in Vietnam had to be pho, and this restaurant made me eat vegetables (a little). The broth was amazing! They had a lot of toppings. The best part was the fried spring rolls. They have several branches, and they're all crowded. Let's give it a try. (The only downside was that the menu was hard to read, and there was no English, so I just pointed at the pictures.) Chút Chít Seafood I came here following a review. The seafood is incredibly delicious. You can experience the local flavor here. The prices are good, the taste is great, and they have a variety of new and unique dishes. The trick is ordering. I recommend preparing your menu and photos from reviews in Thailand. Most menus aren't in English, but even if they are, it's still confusing. To be sure, bring a photo. Another tip is to have them choose one dish for you. I got the fried chicken tendons, and they were so delicious!! Miss Sai Gon Pub: Of course, teenagers like us have to go to pubs and bars. Huh?! District 1, this street at night is like Khao San Road in Thailand, but even more magnificent! And the place we chose was Miss Saigon because the coyote dancers were all so beautiful, and the show was amazing, lol. I was so impressed that I gave them a tip. We only had a weekend, but we wanted to get out of the country! 💗 We chose Ho Chi Minh City because it was a short trip, with a direct flight taking only 2.5 hours. It was also easy to eat, easy to travel, and cheaper than we thought. We went from May 10th to 12th. The weather was hot like Thailand, but the cool evening breeze made it comfortable to walk around. The atmosphere was like a mix of Bangkok and Paris, with old colonial buildings, chic cafes, and vibrant streets. ⸻ 🗓 Day 1 – Upon arrival, we were ready to explore. 3:20 PM – Arrived at Tan Son Nhat Airport. We cleared immigration very quickly, then took a Grab to the city center (it only took 20 minutes and cost around 80–90 baht, which is cheaper than buses in some countries!) 🏨 Check-in: Cityhouse Lighthouse Saigon A small, minimalist accommodation with everything you need: a comfortable bed, strong water, and an area with easy access to markets and cafes. 🛍️ Ben Thanh Market Ho Chi Minh City's legendary market Here you'll find great-value souvenirs, silk, Vietnamese coffee, and a food zone with amazing aromas that are a must-try. 🍕 Pizza 4P's Ben Thanh A pizza restaurant so popular that reservations are required. Their signature dish is their homemade cheese, which is premium and reasonably priced. We recommend the Burrata and Salmon Pizzas. 🚌 City Tour Bus Take an open-top bus tour to admire the views of the old buildings, wide streets, and Vietnamese evening life. The sunset brings a pleasant breeze. 🎭 Saigon Opera House A classic French architecture still in use, perfect for taking photos at night with its beautiful lights. ☕ The Cafe Apartment An old building renovated into dozens of cafes within a single building. Every bite is fresh. ⸻ 🗓 Day 3 – End your trip with legendary food. 🥖 Bánh Mì Huynh Hoa Bánh mì stuffed to the brim with so much filling you can barely cover the bread. I spent three full days there and sampled some of the best dishes I'll share with you: Day 1: Start your trip with a sturgeon hotpot and vegetable buffet (Nhà Hàng Cá Tầm Sapa) As soon as I arrived in Sapa, I was determined to find something warm to offset the chilly weather. The sturgeon hotpot at Nhà Hàng Cá Tầm Sapa, located opposite the Stone Church Square in the center of town, was my first choice. • Atmosphere: A medium-sized restaurant with simple wooden tables decorated with photographs of Sapa's mountain scenery, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere. • Recommended dish: The hotpot features fresh, firm sturgeon in a carefully simmered herbal broth. The flavor is well-balanced, not too salty or sweet. • Vegetable buffet: The buffet offers a wide variety of fresh vegetables, including local vegetables. And the winter vegetables are crisp and fresh, and you can refill them as much as you want. • Tip: We recommend ordering the restaurant's freshly pounded chili sauce to enhance the flavor. This will enhance the spiciness and richness of the hot pot. Eating hot pot at this restaurant is perfect for those who have just arrived in Sapa and need to warm up and recharge before continuing their adventure. Day 1 Evening: Don't miss the chestnut cake at the night market (Quán Bánh Hạt Dẻ Hằng). After exploring the city and taking photos at the stone churches at night, I stopped by the Sapa Night Market, which was filled with bright lights and lively conversation. A popular dessert is the chestnut cake from Quán Bánh Hạt Dẻ Hằng. • Market Atmosphere: The night market was bustling with both tourists and locals. There were a variety of stalls selling food, clothing, and souvenirs. • Chestnut Cake: This soft and smooth cake is made with fragrant roasted chestnuts, with just the right amount of sweetness. Paired with hot tea, it's even more heartwarming. • Specialty: This restaurant uses specially selected chestnuts from the Sapa mountains. This creates a unique aroma and flavor, unlike typical chestnut cakes. • Tip: Try it in the evening or late at night, as the cakes are freshly baked and warm from the oven every day. The chestnut cake here is a perfect dessert for the cold weather, and it also makes a great souvenir to take home. Day 2: Lunch: Refreshing gelato and ethnic-style roast pork Fresh gelato shop: Sapa Gelato After strolling around the city and stopping at a nearby cafe, I tried fresh gelato from Sapa Gelato, a small shop recommended by locals. • The ice cream is rich but not too sweet, made with fresh ingredients. It features flavors of temperate fruits and fresh milk, and is incredibly sweet and smooth. • Perfect for the cooler weather, it's refreshing without being too rich. • The shop's decor is charming, with plenty of photo opportunities. Ethnic-style roast pork: Nhà Hàng Dê Núi Sapa (Mountain Goat Restaurant) The main dish on the second day was roast pork, made using an authentic hill tribe recipe. This shop is located not far from the city center. • The roast pork is tender and juicy. The pieces are not too thick and grilled until fragrant, with a distinct aroma of local spices. • Served with a secret sweet and sour dipping sauce made by the hill tribes themselves, paired with fresh vegetables and sticky rice. • The restaurant has a homey, relaxed atmosphere, with live local music on some days. • We recommend ordering the grilled pork and grilled vegetables, which enhances the rich and flavorful flavors.
