In summer, there is no ice on the lake and you can't drive, so you have to get on a shuttle boat. And St. Isaac's Cathedral is just a masterpiece of architecture! Climbing up the colonnade, I admired the panorama of the city stretching to the horizon. The Hermitage and the Russian Museum left a separate impression. The wealth of collections is simply staggering! I spent several hours there, but to be honest, that's not enough time to appreciate all the masterpieces. I will definitely come back here again! A walk through Peterhof is a real immersion in a fairy tale. Fountains, parks, palaces – everything is steeped in history and luxury. I was fascinated by the Large Cascade and the Samson Fountain. Listvyanka is the closest town to Lake Baikal. It is only 70 km from Irkutsk. 7-Day, 3-City Russia Itinerary🇷🇺｜Murmansk🌊📍Murmansk & Teriberka, the ice-free port in the Arctic Circle Day 1: Beijing✈️Moscow, transfer to Murmansk on the same day. The schedule is tight, so we only stayed here for two days. The first stop of the trip exceeded our expectations. The Arctic Ocean and the aurora surprised us every day🤩 Day 2: Teriberka Day Tour🚗: Since we didn't stay in Teriberka, we booked a day tour from Murmansk🚕. The chartered car was flexible. Our driver was a handsome 30-year-old Russian who was familiar with the road conditions. He could speak simple English and was very nice. When the road to Teriberka was closed, the driver suggested that we set off at 6:30 am and arrive in Teriberka before 8 am. We were surprised to see the beautiful sunrise on the way🌅! Day 3: Aurora Explosion at Night💫: After returning from Teriberka, we had dinner and prepared to chase the aurora with the hunter. We had booked a chartered car in advance. It was cloudy in the afternoon, so we didn't expect to see the aurora. However, at around 10 pm, the hunter informed us📢 that we could set off, and we were very excited! The aurora hunter picked us up at the hotel entrance and drove us🚌 to a place in the suburbs of Murmansk without light pollution. At around 11:30 pm, the aurora slowly appeared🌠. At around 12 am, there was a big explosion, and even purple and red colors appeared. The hunter took many photos with his camera. We chased the aurora until 1 am when it slowly disappeared. We had only planned one day to chase the aurora and didn't have high hopes, but we unexpectedly saw the aurora explosion. Life is full of surprises🥰. Day 3: Murmansk City Walk🚶‍➡️: Murmansk is a small city, so you don't need to spend too much time here. Half a day is enough to visit the landmarks.
