[Tokyo/Nipponbashi Cave] A place you'll want to visit in the hot summer
Nippara Limestone Cave
Nippara Limestone Cave in Okutama
When you go down the stairs, you will find a ticket machine, and beyond that is the entrance.
This short distance already makes you feel like you are in a hidden place.
The entrance is surprisingly cold, but inside it is nice and cool.
It is the perfect place for a hot summer.
The highlight is a long and slender stalagmite that is about 2.5m long.
It is called "Kongojo" (a walking stick) because of its length.
The icicles hanging down are also overwhelming.
The lighting changes color, creating a fantastical effect.
You will feel like you are on an adventure!

[Mount Kawane] How about spending the summer in Okutama?
Mt. Kawanori can be reached by train and bus from the city center, so it's very popular with people who want to go mountain climbing for a day!
Even though the difference in altitude is nearly 1,000m, there are several courses, so even beginners can easily climb the mountain if accompanied by an experienced person.
Another famous spot on Mt. Kawanori is "Hyakuhironotaki" ◎
Seeing the waterfall, which has a drop of about 40m, up close is a spectacular sight! You can feel its power even through a photo!

[Okutama, Tokyo] Okutama's specialty, Heso Manjun
Heso Manju Souhonpo is a shop where you can enjoy steamed manju, a specialty of Okutama. Founded in 1952, it is said that people believed that if you eat heso manju and put in the effort, you will be successful!
Even one is filling and good for a light snack.
I also received a free gift 🙏✨

[Okutama] A restaurant in the forest that serves the best hamburgers♡
Earth Garden, a meat restaurant in the forest 🫶
When you step inside the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a Japanese-style space!
Of course there are table seats, but there are also tatami rooms, counter seats, and terrace seats (^^)
We ate on the terrace since we had the chance ♪
The blissful hamburger steak in the forest was of course delicious, but the Okutama specialty a la carte dishes also went well with alcohol 🥺
Everything was great ♡

Okutama Glamping
We went glamping in Okutama! ⛰🍖
We stayed at the "Fureai Glamping & BBQ" venue. There were six of us, and the price was 15,600 yen per person!
Each tent had one large two-person bed and four futons lined up.
There were plenty of amenities, such as a hair dryer, mirror, and BBQ cooking utensils (tongs, knife, cutting board, scissors, etc.), and there was also an outlet inside the tent so you could charge your devices.
No large insects got into the tent (as long as you closed the entrance tightly), but small flying insects did get in, so be careful if you are worried about that⚠️
The shower rooms (2) and toilets were shared facilities.
We bought BBQ ingredients at the nearby Aeon Mall.
We also enjoyed fireworks at the glamping site. 🎆
At the Hibara Cave in Okutama, the inside of the cave was lit up and it was beautiful. The price was reasonable at 200 yen per person. However, inside the cave, it was cool at 10°C, and there were many steep stairs, so be careful.
At the Hikawa International Trout Fishing Area, you can enjoy trout fishing. Fishing rods were available for rent for 1800 yen per person. You can catch up to five rainbow trout, and you can even grill and eat them! ! It was very delicious 😋😋
I only caught one in about an hour and a half, but my friend caught four! ! 🐟Looking around, there were quite a few fish being caught even during the day.

This time I started from the Hanno area!
If you start climbing from Hanno, you can see the streams on the side, so you can stretch out in relatively cool conditions even in the summer season!

I went to Atago Shrine in Okutama, Tokyo.
It's about a 5-minute walk from Okutama Station to the entrance of Atago Shrine.
From the entrance, there is a fairly steep slope. There are steep stone steps along the way, so if you're confident in your stamina, please try it!

[Tokyo Tourism] Popular abandoned spots in Tokyo!
The Okutama Ropeway Site is a popular abandoned spot in Tokyo.
Since the Okutama Lake Ropeway was discontinued in 1966 due to management issues, the wires, gondolas, and other facilities have been left as they were at the time.
This ropeway was discontinued after only four years. Even in the dilapidated station building, some traces of the original appearance remain, which gives you mixed feelings. And there was a rather eerie and solemn atmosphere...
If you want to feel cool at the end of summer, be sure to visit!

The impressive and impressive "Nippara Cave"
・About 90 minutes from Hachioji IC on National Route 411
・5 minutes by bus from "Nippara Cave"
Nippara Cave, one of the largest limestone caves in the Kanto region, is an essential spot for sightseeing in Nippara.
Shirai Kannon, the frog-shaped Gama Rock, and the illuminated limestone cave are very fantastic. There are many stalactites that are said to take 200 years to grow 3 cm, and you can feel the long time that has been spent there.
Okutama is also nearby, so you can enjoy sightseeing there as well. Why not stretch your legs on your day off and relax in nature?

Yayoi's Ok
Yayoi's Okutama, spring and fall
Fluttering cherry blossoms and snow
Flower viewing in spring, fireworks in summer, autumn leaves in fall, snow in winter
Feeling the four seasons with your skin and eyes is the ultimate luxury for the Japanese, scattered throughout the year.
Add seasonal local sake and fresh mountain delicacies to this and you're in luck, but sometimes nature plays tricks on us.
One of them is a feast of cherry blossoms and powdery snow.
When the blessings of the earth awaken the cherry blossoms, and a cold wave that happened to be left behind in the middle of the day descends, that miracle occurs.
The way the pure white world is tinged with a faint pink is reminiscent of a Japanese woman.
As soon as we step out of the cottage and onto the river, we are captivated by the beauty without even needing to put up an umbrella.
Even the ice particles that freeze our bodies are now precious.
This is a reverse adventure that makes us shiver in the extreme cold.
When the sun goes down, the girls hide in the darkness.
We come to our senses and make a fire.
To warm our chilled bodies instantly.
This is the beginning of a BBQ. [The body expands], [Que serasera], [Whatever will be, will be]. In other words, it is a symbol of freedom in the great outdoors.
Freedom is harsh and tough, and sometimes the stimulation hurts us.
But beauty exists only when we accept that pain as pleasure.
So, where shall we go today? . .
I'm shivering

Beautiful natural scenery spreads out in every season
#springwander
It's fun just to drive along the national highway along the north shore of the lake, but it's recommended to take a leisurely stroll. On the surface of the lake, there is a pedestrian-only floating bridge called the "Drum Bridge" made of square box-shaped resin, and you can enjoy a water walk while looking up close at the lake surface that reflects the natural scenery like a mirror.
In addition, the "Okutama Water and Green Fureaikan" introduces the nature, history, folklore, and details of the dam of Okutama through exhibitions and videos. You can't miss the "Ogochi Dam Curry", which is limited to 20 meals a day, which reproduces the specialty menu of the restaurant in the facility and the drum bridge.

A spot where many people take pictures, wondering what's going on
It all started when the owner's granddaughter, who was attending beauty school, took over the mannequin she was using for practice...
It seems that he placed it there to keep monkeys away from the field, but it's not very effective...
Recently, an acquaintance of his has been bringing in a mannequin from his house, and putting hats on the scarecrows.

There has been a surge in strangely named bakeries across the country, but this one was also created by bakery producer Takuya Kishimoto.
A kamaboko board was thrown out in the trash in front of the store.
I was wondering what it was, and it turned out to be their popular product, "itapan."
Bread baked on a kamaboko board
There are three types of fillings. Unfortunately, it was sold out, so I couldn't buy it.
I bought the limited-time Choco bread and a few other items.
There is also terrace seating, from which you can see the Okutama mountain range.
I ate it when I got home, and it was so delicious...
It's a place I definitely want to stop by when I come to Okutama.

I've been passing by this shop every time I go to Okutama and I've been curious about it for a long time. Enter the road just before the convenience store.
When I arrived 20 minutes after opening, there was already a line.
I waited for about 5 groups, and they asked me to order first, and I waited for about 15 minutes?
Only 3 types of menu.
They use Fukami eggs with firm egg yolks and egg whites, and if you can't decide... this is it!! "Dashimaki Set Meal" (1100 yen)
"Shiro Dashimaki Set Meal" (1300 yen) is a light and healthy meal made with white eggs with white yolks.
"Silkie Dashimaki Set Meal" (1700 yen) is made with Tokyo Silkie chickens, which are extremely nutritious.
The silkie chicken comes with a raw egg.
This is a limited quantity!!
There are three types of side dishes: pickled wasabi, pickled plum, and grated daikon radish.
I ordered the silkie chicken and white dashi.
The silkie chicken was rich in flavor, with a strong dashi flavor and fluffy.
The raw egg was also delicious!!
The white dashi chicken was light and fluffy.
Both were very delicious.
I bought this rich pudding as a souvenir to take home.
The four young staff members were all smiles and very friendly.
I could tell that this is a popular restaurant.

Yamanosato Village Campground
#TokyoAttractions
Yama no Furusato Village Campground is a great campground near the Okutama Lake area, managed by the Tokyo Ome Prefecture Office, well maintained, and the inventory and customer service provide ample information for campers. There are plenty of places for tents, water, fire pits, and restrooms that many people can use.
If you prefer to stay in a campsite during your trip, then this campsite is the best choice. The parking lot is a bit far but the staff will take the initiative to pick you up and drive you back to the office. This is one of the good things about their service.

The scenery of Mt. Gozen is beautiful. Starting from the Tochiyo Sightseeing Parking Lot, we continued on the paved road. Most of the first half was well maintained and easy.
The difficulty is relatively low and does not require much physical strength to complete. This is a hiking course full of Okutama style. The first place you will encounter is the "Gozenyama Trailhead", which has a slightly steep start. The Okutama Forest Experience course can be a bit unsatisfactory. The top is not open nor wide. You can see the mountains of Okutama.
