I rang the Bell of Happiness near the Cape Chikyu Lighthouse in Muroran. Ringing the bell amidst the vast expanses of earth and sea is an indescribable feeling. The sound of the bell is not very loud, but the sound that spreads through the silence is truly beautiful. The scenery was also truly spectacular. Well worth a visit. #SpectacularView

I went to Tokachi Chuo Ohashi (Shiratori Ohashi), a 772.5m-long bridge that spans the Tokachi River, which flows along the border between Otofuke Town and Makubetsu Town in Hokkaido. It's known as a place where swans gather in winter, and the ropes stretched across the beautiful cable-stayed bridge resemble swan wings, which is why it's nicknamed the Shiratori Ohashi! There were lots of swans, and I was able to see a view that I don't usually get to see! There's also Tokachi Onsen right next to the bridge, so I'd like to go to the onsen next time! This is the best spot in Otaru with a spectacular view, located on the way to the resort hotel Neuschloss Otaru, which is in a great location. There is also a place that is directly accessible from the Otaru Aquarium, so if you are in the area, be sure to visit it as well. It seems that they don't come here much these days, but the reef, commonly known as "Todo Rock," is literally famous for the sea lions that come here at certain times of the year. #0yentravel First, we visited the old Muroran Station building. The wooden, classic station building had a calm atmosphere and a nostalgic warmth. Railway materials were also on display inside, giving us a glimpse into the history of Muroran's transportation. Muroran (as are many cities in Hokkaido, not just Muroran) is a town that prospered through coal, and although it is now quite deserted, it seems that it was once very lively. After that, we went to a local udon restaurant and took a break with a bowl of fragrant dashi soup. The simple yet robust flavor gently soothed the fatigue of our journey. Cape Chikyu at the End of the World and Tomakomai at Dusk On the fifth day, I took the Hokuto Limited Express and got off at Higashi-Muroran Station, then took the Muroran Main Line to Bokoi Station. The road to Cape Chikyu was long, and it was snowing heavily. I was the only one on the mountain road. When I arrived at Cape Chikyu, it was still snowing heavily, and visibility was poor. Fortunately, the sky cleared up after a while. On Cape Chikyu, you can see the curvature of the earth. A cruise ship in the distance slowly sails on the water, looking so small compared to the sea. Muroran is an industrial city. On the other side of Cape Chikyu, you can see the industrial area with thick smoke. Tomakomai is a quiet city with few tourists. It is also an industrial city with a very developed shipping industry.
