In 2008, the construction of Luang Pho Yai (Phra Phuttha Maha Nawamin Sakyamuni Si Wiset Chai Chan) was completed, making it another destination for tourists to come and admire its beauty and pray for blessings continuously. In 2003, Phra Khru Wibun Achan Khun or Luang Pho Kasem of Wat Muang, Ang Thong, began to renovate it, turning it into a temple with resident monks and eventually becoming a place of spiritual support for Buddhists and locals.

After the renovation of the temple in 2001, it was opened for those with spiritual power to join in donating money to build Phra Phuttha Maha Nawamin Sakyamuni Si Wiset Chai Chan, which was completed in 2009. It is considered the largest Buddha statue in Thailand and the largest sitting Buddha statue in the world. With a lap width of 62 meters and a height of 95 meters, equivalent to a 32-story building.

🚓🚌How to get there Wat Muang is approximately 8 kilometers from Mueang District. You can travel along Ang Thong-Wichian Chai Road or Highway No. 3195. If traveling by bus, from Ang Thong Bus Terminal, you must take bus No. 464 Saraburi-Suphan to the entrance of the temple. Then walk about 800 meters. There is a parking lot for visitors. There is a comfortable and sufficient parking space for cars and motorcycles. However, on holidays or festivals, there may be more people. Therefore, you may have to wait to find additional parking during some times.
⏰ Visiting hours: Wat Muang is open from 08:00 to 17:00 every day. Visitors can walk around the temple grounds and make wishes freely. However, they should respect the temple's rules and behave appropriately when visiting.
