At this moment, I become a unique note in the mountains and water. As night falls, I head to the bustling night market and order a serving of authentic Naotang donkey meat. Jinjialing is located deep in the Taihang Mountains in Zhaihuo Township, Boai County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. It is the best place to watch the Taihang red leaves in autumn. It is the Taihang Mountains National Macaque Nature Reserve and a rare green corridor in the Taihang Mountains in the north and south of Henan. The forest here is boundless, the vegetation is luxuriant, there are many kinds of animals and plants, exotic flowers and plants are everywhere, and there are nearly 10,000 acres of artificial pine forest. On the auspicious day of the first day of the seventh lunar month, it is suitable to go to Jiaozuo Yueshan Temple for a spiritual blessing ceremony.📍 Driving there takes only about 40 minutes, and you can reach this tranquil holy land. The scenic area has a convenient parking lot🅿️, and each car only needs to pay a parking fee of ¥10. The ticket price is affordable, only ¥25, allowing you to easily step into this space full of Zen. Entering Yueshan Temple, although it is not large in scale, a leisurely walk around for about 40 minutes allows you to fully appreciate its unique charm. This visit is my first real entry into Yueshan Temple. In the past, I only had a fleeting glance. Unexpectedly, the temple is lush and pleasant, and it is known as one of the four major Buddhist temples in the Central Plains region along with Xiangguo Temple in Kaifeng, White Horse Temple in Luoyang, and Shaolin Temple in Songshan. It has a long history and a great reputation. There is only a winding path up the mountain, and devotees hold incense sticks and proceed devoutly. At the foot of the mountain, there are vendors selling incense. The shopkeepers are kind and not only give away lighters but also carefully add oil to the incense to help ignite it. Of course, you can also bring your own incense for a more personalized blessing experience. Inside Yueshan Temple, it is peaceful and serene, allowing one's mind to settle. On the way down the mountain, I had the fortune to taste the famous Jiang noodles of the Bo'ai area. Its unique flavor is unforgettable, and I highly recommend it. Here, I also warmly remind all visitors to bring their own lighters, as the wind on the mountain occasionally extinguishes the flame, and specific areas within the temple do not provide incense lighting services. Today is the first day of the lunar month, a perfect time for blessing and wishing.

Xizhanggan Village is located in the eastern part of Motou Town, Boai County, Henan Province, 4 kilometers away from the county seat. It covers a total area of 0.5 square kilometers, bordered by the Quanliang River to the east, surrounded by bamboo forests to the north and south, with fresh air and flowing water, presenting a picturesque bamboo forest water village scene. The village currently has 401 mu of arable land and 40 mu of bamboo forest. There are 73 households with a total population of 335 people. The village has one villager group, four village committee cadres, and 19 party members. It has received honors such as "Henan Province Sanitary Village", "Jiaozuo City Advanced Village in Characteristic Agricultural Industry Development", "Boai County Demonstration Village for Human Settlements Environment", and "Boai County Excellent Village for Safe Construction". Xizhanggan Village in the Bamboo Forest Water Village is open to the public for free. It is recommended to drive there.

☀️ Yuntai Mountain Yuntai Mountain, one of the most famous mountains in Henan Province besides Mount Laojun, is located in Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo. The main attractions include Red Stone Gorge, Zhuyu Peak, and the Tan Waterfall Gorge and Quan Waterfall Gorge. Tickets are valid for two days and include a scenic area shuttle transfer. It's a great place to cool off in the summer and view ice formations in the winter, and I think it's the best-equipped commercial tourist area in the province. 🌈 Qingtian River Located in Bo'ai County, Jiaozuo, it's a World Geopark and also part of the Taihang Mountain Nature Reserve. Viewing the autumn leaves is a major highlight. When visiting Qingtian River, you must take a boat ride; it's like floating on emerald waves, as if you are in a painting. ☁️ Shennong Mountain Situated in Qinyang, Jiaozuo, it is said that the legendary Emperor Shennong identified grains and tasted herbs here, offering sacrifices to the heavens, hence the name Shennong Mountain. The Dragon Ridge Great Wall, a world geological wonder, is the most representative natural landscape of Shennong Mountain and is also a macaque sanctuary. 🌟 Qinglong Gorge Qinglong Gorge and Fenglin Gorge are two major attractions independently located in the western area of Yuntai Mountain, both in Xiuwu County. Fenglin Gorge is within the Qinglong Gorge scenic area. Qinglong Gorge features a mountain cableway and multiple waterfalls suitable for hiking, trekking, and water play, while Fenglin Gorge has lakes and cableways ideal for sightseeing and enjoying the scenery. ☁️ Xieji Cantonese Snacks A tiny shop, but incredibly delicious. It's always super crowded to the point where you have to eat on the roadside. Their honey-glazed char siu rice is their signature dish, so tasty you'll want to lick the plate clean, and not greasy at all!! 🌈 Mulinxuan Fresh Cut Lamb Clay Pot This place isn't in Jiaozuo city center but in Xiuwu County town, yet the taste is absolutely exceptional. It's worth driving half an hour from Jiaozuo just to eat here!! Their lamb is visibly fresh, stewed on the spot. It's recommended to make a reservation in advance. 💧 Intestine Noodles Near the East Second Ring, this noodle shop serves huge portions and the taste is also very good. The highlight is their tender duck heads, which are different from other places. They are soft and mushy, melting in your mouth. You definitely must try the duck heads!! 🌟 Wuzhi Hongxing Clay Pot Garden Speaking of Jiaozuo's cuisine, how can we forget Wuzhi clay pots!! The clay pot from this shop on Chang'en Road tops my list. Pour on freshly fried hot chili segments, and the sizzling oil and aroma hit you right away~ It's simply intoxicating!! 💥 Dongji Roujiamo This is also a delicacy from Xiuwu. Their roujiamo is completely different from what you eat elsewhere. Their meat is like braised meat, very tender and flavorful, incredibly fragrant and delicious, so good it'll make you cry.

Originally named 'Qingfeng Hermitage'. In the 20th year of Dading, it was granted the name 'Daming Zen Monastery'. In the 6th year of Yuan Zhi Zheng and the 3rd year of Yongle of the Ming dynasty, it was rebuilt, and in the Wuyin year of Tianshun, it was bestowed the name 'Baoguang'. After the Qing dynasty, it was renamed 'Yueshan Temple'. In the 17th year of the Republic of China, it was changed to 'Zhongshan Park'. The first official name of Yueshan Temple - Daming Zen Monastery was conferred by Emperor Shizong of the Jin dynasty. Yueshan Temple was built in the third year of Zhenglong of the Jin dynasty, and was initially called 'Qingfeng Hermitage'. Since it was built during the early turbulent years of the Jin dynasty, it did not have official approval from the authorities, meaning it was a temple that had not been sanctioned by the government. Just like Guilin, better than the Three Gorges Jiaozuo Qingtian River combines the water towns of the south of the Yangtze River and the pastoral scenery of the north. It is known as the "Three Gorges of the North" and the "Guilin Landscape". This is the Qingtian River in Jiaozuo. The newly opened hotel in Bo'ai, here's my experience: 1. The hotel toilets have an automatic heating function, which is very considerate. 2. The hotel is right above Bo'ai Park, which makes for a pleasant evening run, and across the street is Huajian Alley Snack Street, boasting a superior location. 3. The room comes with 4 bottles of mineral water, cola, orange juice with pulp, and a pack of snacks, which is quite thoughtful. A reminder that all the drinks in the room are free of charge. 4. One thing I particularly like is the table in the room, which is great for ordering takeout or working inside. 5. As for cleanliness, since the hotel is newly opened, it seems pretty good for now, and I hope the owner can maintain the hotel's cleanliness. 6. The soundproofing might be a bit lacking, which is something that can't be changed, but it's not too bothersome. 7. There's a small gym and reading room on the first floor of the hotel, as well as a restaurant. Overall, the stay was good, worth the money spent, and provided great value.

Bo'ai County is a quiet small county in the suburbs of Jiaozuo City. Among the urban areas, the ancient charm of the ancient style is extremely rich.
