Itadakimasu and let me bring you to Sushi Hakkoku, a one-star Michelin chef restaurant in Tokyo. They are located at the vibrant Ginza in Tokyo and the nearest station is Ginza station. This restaurant is run Chef Sato who is a highly acclaimed Michelin sushi chef and now open up another sushi place. They are open on selected days for lunch and dinner service so a reservation will be required. It is a easier to make a reservation via their website. But they only have like 6 limited seats at the counter so you will need to make reservations in advance. The restaurant is a small 6-seater counter table. It is also cheaper to come here for lunch too. 🇯🇵 Fukuzuka Omakase experience
Itadakimasu and let me bring you to Fukuzuka, a sushi restaurant with a secret entrance in Tokyo. They are located within Shinjuku city and the nearest station is Lidabashi station. This restaurant is run by Chef Fukusuka and he is an expert in serving his curated dishes in varying temperature. They are open on selected days for dinner service so a reservation will be required. It is also easy to make a reservation via their website. But they only have like 4 limited seats at the counter so you will need to make reservations in advance. At every omakase, a menu is not presented but some chef will provide a printed menu for every guest and you can bring this menu back as souvenir. Each ingredient is specially selected and sourced domestically from other prefecture or from small farmers. This method ensures high quality ingredients for every meal. 🇯🇵｜Tokyo Michelin One Star Tempura
We visited one of the top three tempura specialty restaurants in Tokyo, called "Fukamachi Tempura" . This restaurant is also a Michelin one-star restaurant, and we were lucky enough to secure a dinner reservation with head chef Masao Fukamachi. Fukamachi's tempura has a very thin batter that is not greasy at all, and it is fried and served fresh. We were surprised by the fine dining quality of the tempura. The restaurant uses two different oil temperatures for frying different ingredients, and each piece of tempura is served with a different dipping sauce to bring out the best taste and flavor of the food. There are three different set menus to choose from, and we chose the 26,000 yen option, which included high-quality ingredients such as eel and shirako. #本地遊 #urbanexplorer #foodie

One of the lively and happiest Meet and Greet house and this is the Pom Pom Purin house who is a yellow dog and look like a pudding. You can also find this popular pudding all over Japan and Pom Pom Purin take after the colours of this pudding. You are allowed to use your own camera and phone to take photos with the characters. A professional photographer will also be there to help you take photos with their camera and your camera/phone too. Then you can decide if you wish to purchase the professional photo. 🌸 Sakura/Cherry Blossom 🌸
Cherry blossom season in Tokyo is truly a magical experience, thousands of trees burst into bloom, dousing the stunning shades of pink. The cherry blossom dates are start on 20th March and peak on 29th March. I went to Shinjuku Gyeon, Ueno Onshi Park, Chidorigafuchi Moat & Senso-ji viewing cherry blossom, many of the cherry blossom viewing events and festivals were canceled or scaled back due to Covid-19, many are limiting their viewing to strolling under the trees rather than drinking and eating in traditional party style. Despite cherry blossom, i enjoyed the Japanese foods as well especially ramen, tempura & sushi. #nationalpark

When it comes to local food and must tries, one of the food items in Tokyo which you will have to try is called Monjayaki. While waiting time is long, you will be able to taste this food which most locals eat. It is made on the spot after you order, and each table will have it served and the staff cook in front of you. Estimated dining and waiting time is 2.5 hours so come here when you have time to spare.

They offer a large variety of snacks, sauces, biscuits, sweets, chocolates, drinks and many more at affordable prices. If you buy in bulk above 5000 yen (S$50), you can get a tax refund on the spot, please remember to bring along your passport. They will use a plastic bag to seal it and you can’t open it until custom clearance. Some of my favourite items are Honey Butter Almonds, assorted nuts, dried squid, Kororo gummy, matcha Kit-Kat, seasonal flavours Pocky, Japanese curry cube and many more.
