Hotels in Xijindu Ancient Street/Jinshan, Zhenjiang

This is our first time to Zhenjiang. This hotel is within 10 minutes taxi ride from Zhenjiang railway station. On 27 Dec 2023, we arrived late at night and all the shops nearby the hotel have already closed. So, no dinner. The reception staff, Fang Rong and 张师傅, took good care of us by offering snacks and carried our luggage into the room. The hotel’s location and environment are fantastic! It is located at Xijindu ancient street where you can stroll along the ancient street. The museum and old British consulate are within walking distance from the hotel, through the ancient street, past a 观音 cave. Another tourist spot, Jinshan 金山 is also within 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel’s breakfast is delicious and good value for money. The hotel’s room is very clean, very comfortable and very nice. The hotel’s staff Steven is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Upon check out, we got a small trinket as souvenir. I had a pleasant stay and will definitely choose this hotel again. Thank you all for the outstanding service and warm hospitality during our stay.

The hotel service is very good. Before checking in, the hotel housekeeper (here I would like to praise Xiao Lu, Lu Chenye) sent us travel tips and food recommendations, so we didn't have to think about how to play or where to eat. After checking in, there were also service staff to guide us to the room and help with luggage, etc., which was really considerate. The environment in the room is even better, spacious and comfortable, and it also has a small balcony where you can see the scenery inside the hotel. The Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the main building is also very good, the dishes are light and delicious, and the portions are large! The whole stay experience is very comfortable, great!

Zhenjiang is my father's hometown. I once passed by on a business trip in the late 1990s. I remember that time I only visited Jinshan Temple. So this time I came to Zhenjiang after retirement. I read the Zhenjiang travel guide on Xiaohongshu, which recommended staying in hotels in the Xijindu area. So I searched on Ctrip and found that there were many hotels with good locations in Xijindu, and it was almost difficult to choose. After comprehensive consideration, I chose Shuxiang Xinbo Hotel. Among the hotels with a rating of 4.5 or above, I prefer the design style of the hotel, which is a combination of traditional and new designs. I was just worried that there would be no parking spaces for self-driving tours (the reviews said that there were few parking spaces at the door), so I contacted the hotel in advance to confirm the parking spaces. They said that there were still parking spaces at the door, and the hotel had another parking lot nearby, so there was no need to worry. Fortunately, we were able to park at the door for the two nights we stayed. Probably because of the off-season, I booked a double bed room, and the hotel upgraded it to a suite for free, with an elevator (the hotel was renovated from an old house in the Republic of China, and the building is about 4 or 5 floors high). The suite has a living room + cloakroom + standard king-size bed room. The space is relatively large and clean. The 2-meter-wide bed has good bedding, soft and comfortable, very nice. In addition to the standard toiletries, the bathroom is also equipped with a bathtub film. This is the only one we have seen in the multiple hotels we have stayed in since we drove all the way from Guangzhou. For this reason, this is also the only time we dare to take a bath in the bathtub in the hotel to relieve fatigue. The plastic slippers in the room need to be called to the front desk (this is the experience gained from this self-driving tour). The little robot will send the slippers up and will notify by phone. It is silent when walking and does not disturb people. It is very cute. Looking at the comments, there are criticisms about the electric control switch in the room. Sure enough, the design of the electric control switch is too alternative and niche, and the operation is not intuitive. You can only grope for the buttons. It feels that it is not suitable for hotel use, especially for the elderly. However, the switch is a small flaw and has little impact. Overall, the hotel experience is still very good and cost-effective.

I slept until 10am and thought I missed the hotel breakfast, so I called the front desk. I didn't expect that breakfast could be delivered to the room at 10:30! So thoughtful! The preparation was very attentive, please see the photo~ It was a really big bowl of noodles! Super rich! Better than eating out! The auntie who delivered the food was super nice, smiling and cute! On weekends, I took my parents to Zhenjiang to travel and stayed at the Shuxiang Mansion Hotel. This hotel is located in Xijindu, the historical ancient street of Zhenjiang, very close to the famous ”three mountains” (Jinshan, Jiaoshan, Beigushan), and it is very convenient to travel. The rooms of the Shuxiang Mansion Hotel are distributed in Bao's Qianzhuang and Yuntai Building built during the Republic of China. Mr. Sun Yat-sen has stayed and lectured here, with a rich historical and cultural heritage. The room facilities are high-end and exquisite, antique, just in line with parents' wishes. The four of us lived in two rooms and one living room on the ground floor of Bao's Qianzhuang. The entrance was a patio, ventilated and breathable, and it was easy to light. The layout of the hall is like a study, and the four treasures of the study are all available. Dad put down his luggage and put on the paper. The front desk of the hotel was very intimate and said that you can borrow Hanfu for free. My mother was very happy. I immediately borrowed a set of Hanfu and took pictures in an elegant environment. His breakfast is a set meal for one person (one person, one bowl of pot noodles + a crab powder cage, a fresh meat cage, a vegetable bag, a braised egg and meat, noodles and small cage are all cooked and steamed) + semi-self-service form, fruit, salad, bread coffee, small pickles, millet porridge. The hotel room is not only in place, but also the service is very warm and can be reflected in the details. Guests check in, the service staff carries the luggage to the room for the guests, informs the facilities in detail, and the welcome fruit is placed early in the room. In addition, the freshly burned white fungus will be delivered at night, making people feel at home.

The preferred inn for girlfriends travel, the location is very good, just in the Xijindu Scenic Area, a minute or two from the parking lot, it is very convenient to go out to play and take a taxi, the proprietress is enthusiastic, an e person, the inn yard is very beautiful, the room is very clean, the aroma is very good, the toilet is particularly large, There are free snacks in the house, very intimate. The entrance of the inn is still a must-check attraction for tourists, very recommended

It's my first time staying at Atour Hotel. It's really nice. The room is very clean and tidy. The bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas. The hotel is very close to the scenic spots. The breakfast is not bad. The key is that the service is super good. You can pet cats in the lobby. I will definitely stay here next time I come to my hometown.

國慶家庭出遊臨時定的酒店，價格還好沒比平時漲太多，到店還升級了套房，規格在鎮江應該還算中上的酒店了，設施有些年頭了但房間挺大，套房床很大但是床墊太軟了睡得有點累，最值得一提的是早餐的牛肉鍋蓋麪超級好吃，是我在鎮江吃過的四次鍋蓋麪裏最好吃的，直接其他的都沒吃，吃了兩碗麪，電梯有點慢。

總體來説還不錯，最大優點當然是離景區近了，不過長假裏也並不算很方便，景區內飯店個個爆滿，把車開到酒店都費了老大勁，好在酒店點外賣能到房間門口，大堂和餐廳挺小的，但房間面積夠大，早飯品種也可以滿足基本需求了，服務很好，房間中規中矩吧，幾個對細節的吐槽：床的長短和拖鞋大小明顯不是給1米8個子以上的人準備的，但是門上貓眼的高度不長到1米8又夠不到

You can take a taxi or bus to the main road for eating, shopping, and going out. It is not far to take a taxi to Beigu Mountain and Jiaoshan Main Road. Very close to Zhenjiang Restaurant, convenient to eat, did not book the hotel's breakfast, there are many breakfast options when going out, pot noodles, etc., very convenient.
