An absolutely wonderful stay at Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie! The hotel is fairly new, modern and clean, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast buffet was a highlight with many varied choices. This hotel boasts a prime location that makes exploring the Wulingyuan area effortless. It is just a short didi car ride away from East Entrance Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Baofeng Lake. It is also within walking distance to the Charming Xiangxi Show. A special shout-out to the amazing lady butler, peng peng 朋朋, who truly made our trip extra special! Her thoughtful recommendations and itinerary planning helped us make the most of our time at Zhangjiajie. Her advice on the best local spots to eat was also spot on. We are truly impressed by this hotel's exceptional flexibility and commitment to guest satisfaction. When our travel plans unexpectedly changed in the middle of our stay, they provided us with a free cancellation for the rest of the booked days. This level of customer care is deeply appreciated. With an extremely unique private river-view, Happy Stay is more like a treasure resort hotel, located close to Golden Whip Stream, only a few minutes walking distance to Wulingyuan National Forest Park entrance and to Wulingyuan bus station, 20 minutes to drive to Zhangjiajie west train station, 30 minutes to drive to Tianmen Mountain and Glass Bridge. The hotel is located at Wulingyuan city center, easily approaches shops, restaurants, pharmacy, banks, cinema, bars, bakeries and coffee shops. The hotel has varied type of rooms: rooms with balcony, rooms with yard, rooms with bathtub, and rooms for family. More importantly, hotel staff can speak fluent English, will give guests advice on how to make travel easily here.

The service at the hotel was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I’d especially like to mention Zhang Xiaoyuan, who went out of her way to assist us—despite our language barrier, we communicated smoothly via WeChat and Google Translate, which was greatly appreciated. We also got a free pick up service in a luxury van and managed to check in early - you also get a free tea experience on the 7th floor. The hotel’s location is very convenient, just a 15-minute walk from the east gate of the national park. There are also several restaurants within a 5 to 10-minute walk, offering plenty of dining options. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a good mix of options including some Western choices like toast, cakes, and watermelon. The freshly made rice noodles and eggs stood out as the highlights for me given that I’m gluten free and vegetarian. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped, featuring a Japanese toilet and a soothing hot tub—a lovely touch for relaxing after a day of exploring. The king-sized bed provided a great night’s sleep. Overall, I highly recommend staying here for a few days if you plan to spend time in the national park.
