It is very close to the entrance of Tianmen Mountain Line B. You can see Tianmen Cave when you go out. The owner also provides pick-up service at the entrance of the scenic area. The room is very warm, the bed is very comfortable, and the space is large. It is worth mentioning that the food in the B&B is also delicious. The surrounding area is relatively quiet, suitable for rest. There is also a small supermarket opposite, which is worth recommending.

The room was incredibly, incredibly clean!!! The bedding was surprisingly comfortable, and there was even mosquito repellent and a fire mask in the bedside table—such a thoughtful touch. The air was also great, and it was very close to Tianmen Mountain. Two beds were perfect for a family of four with a baby. The owner was incredibly kind, offering a car to pick us up and drop us off. I regret not taking more photos of the room. Highly recommended.

1. Hotel Experience & Unmatched Hospitality
My stay at XiFuWan Resort Hotel was truly unforgettable—one of the most heartfelt and sincere displays of hospitality I’ve encountered in all my travels. A family-owned hotel opened in 2024, it makes you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a commercial customer.
As a solo traveller on a spontaneous trip, I had very little planned. The hotel staff kindly helped secure attraction tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and ZJJ Grand Canyon, even managing to get them at slightly lower prices than the official sites. The owner—formerly with the Zhangjiajie Tourism Bureau—also provided invaluable advice on routes and timings, tailored to my stay. This made a huge difference in navigating the expansive park efficiently.
2. Cleanliness, Comfort & Amenities
The Exceptional Business Double Room was impeccably clean—easily among the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Rather than a work desk, the room had a lounge table and two chairs by the window, creating a cosy spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery.
A wonderful bonus was the complimentary laundry service, which was thoughtful and convenient, especially after outdoor excursions.
3. Generosity & Personal Care
I arrived early in the morning and was offered a free early check-in. On departure day, the staff also offered late check-out due to my evening flight, which I truly appreciated.
When I felt unwell on my first day, the owner’s father—a retired doctor— kindly offered a medical consultation and continued to check in on me. Their level of attentiveness was deeply moving.
To top it off, the hotel gifted all guests a box of fresh local fruits, reflecting their warmth and generosity.
4. Location, Accessibility & Language Support
The hotel is located in a fantastic area—peaceful, yet close to numerous eateries, shops, and amenities. The convenience of having everything within walking distance enhanced the entire experience.
Despite being in a mountainous region, the hotel features a built-in lift, making it very accessible—something that’s not always common in small towns.
For English-speaking travellers, one of the owners is a former English teacher, which made basic communication smooth and reassuring.
5. Community Feel
The hotel sits beside a local primary school, which added a lovely, heartwarming touch to the environment. There’s a strong sense of community and kindness, not only within the hotel, but throughout the surrounding area. For those who value authentic, local experiences, this place feels like home.
6. Final Thoughts
Although XiFuWan Resort Hotel only began accepting foreign tourists a few months ago, it is an absolute hidden gem that deserves more recognition among international visitors. If you’re considering a stay in Zhangjiajie, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this hotel a try. The care, hospitality, and personal touch truly set it apart.
Without a doubt, I’ll be staying here again the next time I return to ZJJ.

KKyleThis is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Everything upon pickup at the train station, to a beautiful breakfast buffet, to a serene and picturesque property. The staff were all amazing and were always quick to respond and help with anything we needed. I’m usually one to skip hotel breakfasts but this one was really good with a good variety of items. They helped us book all of our tickets and drove us to the nearby sites. They recommended a DiDi for the further away Tianmen mountain and Glass bridge which was easy for us. Hotel was perfectly located in the midst of everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend.

- before our arrival, we already felt the warmth and genuine hospitality.They patiently dialogued with us to plan how best to maximise our time during our 5D4N stay with them, and even considered the days after as we are moving to another homestay. They thoughtfully introduced and mapped out local attractions, helping us make the most of our trip.
- We appreciated their transparency when sharing their offerings and discounted rates, giving us space to compare without pressure. This gave us peace of mind even before checking in.
- One of the biggest highlights was how the homestay helped bridge the transportation gap. Despite the secluded location, they arranged reliable partner drivers who charged us at very competitive Didi rates, making travel easy and affordable without needing to worry about timing.
- We also loved the friendly dogs and cat around the homestay. They brought so much joy and warmth, and playing with them became part of our daily routine.
A special shoutout to Butler Jiang (将）, who truly went above and beyond.
- Upon arrival, he noticed we had caught a cold and politely ask if he could prepare herbal tea for us. This became our daily comfort drink throughout the stay. We even felt shy asking for it so often, but he and the team kindly reminded us it was part of their care.
- One unforgettable moment was during a heavy downpour. With the road under government maintenance, access to the homestay became extra challenging for that day. Butler Jiang appeared with multiple umbrellas and a buggy (not something we had seen before!). Since cars couldn’t reach the homestay directly, he walked down to escort guests personally—soaked in rain but making sure each of us stayed dry. When we got on the buggy, we realized he had even opened umbrellas to keep the seats dry. We were deeply touched by his dedication. Upon returning, we were greeted by a joyful gathering of guests enjoying a mini party at the pavilion—a sight that perfectly captured the warmth and spirit of this homestay.
Another shoutout to their partnering driver sun (孙）:
- After we moved to our second homestay, we once got stranded by the roadside because of Didi GPS error that made it difficult for a ride-hailing driver to locate the place. The only option offered by our then homestay was to dropped us at the base of a mountain, where we waited over 15 minutes with no success. Luckily, driver sun from Celestial Valley Homestay recognized us and offered us a ride, so we followed him back to Celestial Valley, and were warmly welcomed again with complimentary tea and another chance to enjoy the view and play with the pets.
- driver sun also took on our business and brought us to the city and even took us on another round trip to a faraway attraction. We were no longer guests at that point, yet the hospitality continued. We were truly thankful for the extended service and kindness.
This homestay gave us more than just a place to stay—it offered warmth, care, and unforgettable memories. It's this genuine hospitality that makes Celestial Valley such a rare gem.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for heartfelt service, breathtaking views and a true home away from home.

LLotus7We were a group of six and booked five rooms for three nights (some stayed for two). Truly, this place is so beautiful! From the moment we were picked up at the station, everything was seamless. The hotel staff were extremely kind, professional, and spoke good English. They always went above and beyond to meet any of our needs.
The breakfast was super delicious, and we even met wonderful travelers from all over the world. The hotel is surrounded by great restaurants, massage clinics, and lovely locals — the whole area just has such a warm, welcoming vibe.

What truly made this stay unforgettable was Service Steward Xiao Yu—he remembered my preference for early breakfast, helped arrange a timely taxi to the scenic area, and even left a note with local snack recommendations.
I’ll 100% book Zhangjiajie Sunshine Hotel again on my next trip and can’t recommend it enough—especially if you get to be assisted by Xiao Yu!

XXYHJNThe room was spotless. The location is excellent, just a short taxi ride from the scenic area entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A charming little stream runs right by the entrance, offering beautiful scenery, and you can even go down for a paddle. The owner was incredibly kind and went out of their way to thoroughly explain tips for exploring the scenic area. There's also a third-floor terrace, perfect for drying clothes, which offers fantastic views. This is a truly honest review – we had an absolutely wonderful time!

GGuest UserThe hotel is run by siblings. All three owners were very friendly, helpful, and placed great emphasis on service. We were picked up from the airport free of charge.
We stayed for three days. During this time, the hotel owners recommended the most beautiful hiking routes in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain and obtained all the necessary tickets for us.
Although the owners spoke very little English, communication went very well thanks to their excellent translation tools.
The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The owners also gave us great tips for restaurants in the area.
The rooms are beautifully designed, large, and clean.
We had to leave very early in the morning, before breakfast. But we were given a very tasty and filling packed lunch for the journey. We would like to thank the owners once again for the wonderful stay and the great service. We can highly recommend this hotel. It was a lovely stay.

Location wise can be quite subjective (quiet and serene at the price of 3-5 minute taxi ride to Biaozhimen or the more happening Wuling Road). A bit overwhelming to the extent that staffs were always occupied and I did not manage to get pillow set for the third occupant in my room. In the end, I had to use zabuton on tatami as the makeshift pillow. Please inform the front desk if you do not want housekeeping service, as the cleaner might have overlooked my Do Not Disturb lamp.

The owner is incredibly kind and helpful—he even assisted me in booking Wulingyuan Scenic Area tickets! The hotel itself is small but cozy, with only around 10 rooms. Each room is spacious, clean, and uniquely designed, giving a personalized touch.
