Ralph’s hotel is in an excellent location (minutes from the entrance to the park - East Gate) and around the corner from a massive night market. Ralph and the hotel receptionist are a huge help, having booked us a train station transfer and all the tickets, as well as awaiting us at our arrival and walking us through our 3-day itinerary. The cherry on top was that despite being in a room on the fifth floor, both the receptionist and Ralph refused to let us carry our heavy suitcases up the stairs. They brought them up the first night and back down the last morning. Free water offered on return to the hotel after a blisteringly hot day in the national park! And a very week-functioning AC unit in the room — works almost too well!

This hostel’s location couldn’t have been better—just 5 mins walk from the East Gate of Tianmenshan National Park in Wulingyuan! Ralph, the owner, and his team were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. They helped us book tickets, shared insider tips on planning our days, and even arranged hassle-free taxi transfers to and from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. Ralph’s fluent English was a huge plus, especially since my Mandarin is still a work in progress (I’m learning!). The hostel itself was spotless and cozy, with a much-appreciated laundry service—perfect after days of travel. The area also has plenty of great dining options nearby. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tianmenshan—great hospitality, convenience, and comfort!
