Suxin Tianmen Yinlu Hotel

Extremely overpriced, considering the lacking amenities. Lots of things in the room did not work: The bathroom door didn't slide to close; there were no tracks put in place, so you have to use the toilet with no privacy from other guests! There's a Toto toilet in the room, but the remote control for it did not work. We asked the management to replace the batteries, and they never did it. The light for the big mirror in front of the sink flashed horribly (enough to cause a seizure) and was unusable. They never gave us the welcome gift that they advertise on Trip.com. We heard them tell another guest at checkout that there's a late-night snack available, but they never bothered to tell us... No mini-fridge. No body lotion. There was a kettle and cups, but no tea. No elevator; carrying luggage was painful. They even charge for you to do laundry, which hotels a fraction of the price in China don't do. The bath slippers were filthy. There were also stains on the blankets, dead mosquito smears on the walls, and water damage near the ceiling. The shower could be more clean. The mosquito plug-in device was empty. They also put in a noncompatible cartridge, so the toxic liquid leaked! This is a necessary item because there were a TON of mosquitoes in the room, probably because they leave the doors wide open after a guest checks out. They say on Trip.com that they speak English, but they definitely do not. They use a translation device, which is fine, but it's unnecessary for them to lie. Beds were kind of hard, though this is normal in China. Location was inconvenient. There's not even a convenience store close by; you have to walk about 15 minutes on roads without protected pedestrian crossings to get to a grocery store. It's walking distance to the Tianmen Mountain cable car for ticket A or shuttle stop for tickets B&C... but there are better hotels that are much closer. Sorry, but US $80 for this, especially with the location being very not central, is a ripoff. We paid less than half for this at our previous hotel in Zhangjiajie for an equal level of amenities. The price should be more like $50-60 a night. The good things: 1) rooms/beds were big, 2) they will drop you off at the airport (but don't expect any other rides), 3) breakfast was decent, 4) close to Tianmen Mountain (but still not as close as better accommodations), 5) they explain the tour route to you (but other hotels in the area do this too).

Great place to stay near the airport and train station. Only 30 minute didi taxi ride to the national forest east gate in Wulingyuan. Also next to the cable cart that takes you up to Tianmenshan mountain about 5 minutes taxi ride. Very clean place and hosts are nice
