The family run hotel promoted their sustainability ethos, in the choice of building materials and the food provided at breakfast. Very helpful staff went out of their way to ensure a great stay.

Hotel is Great. Breakfast is included in your stay. The rooms are gorgeous and with an amazing matterhorn view from our room. The spa and sauna were also amazing. All staffs were very helpful.

The Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station.
We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.
At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.

We have had 2 nights at the very classy lodge. It is beautifully appointed with a lot of thought gone into “the look”. And it has been very successful; clean, comfortable, stylish, with very cheerful, helpful staff. My only minor criticism is about the lighting in our room, subtle merging on dark - I had my case under the television and had difficulty seeing into it

We arrived a little earlier than expected. The hotel was able to send a shuttle to pick us up and we checked in. The decor and vibes are delightfully charming. We were stunned by an unexpected upgrade in our accommodations for the two nights we were there! Everything was immaculate and well appointed. I only wish we had more time to stay in Zermatt and enjoy the hotel. We would absolutely book here again on a future visit.
