It's difficult to put into words the overall experience we had on our safari vacation. Apart from the amazing drives we went on with our guide Alister, everything was taken care of before we ever had to ask. The luxury lodges were fantastic! The plunge pools were perfect mid day and after the afternoon drive. The massages were extremely relaxing. Everyone on staff was delightful and treated us like family. Looking forward to our next trip there.

Once again we were for 6 nights in Rhulani safari lodge. It was one of our best holidays ever. As the the other stays we felt unwind from the moment we arrived until we had to leave. The lodge is truly wonderful, you have all the privacy you need plus a super super Hospitality. The staff is fabulous, warm - hearted, always helpful and super friendly. We felt very comfortable. The Game Drives with our Guide Alasdair were absolutely phantastic. We have not enough word to describe our Feelings. Every drive was sensational, the brain was overloaded with breathtaking impressions. We saw 3 different leopards, many lions with cubs, elephants,black and white rhinos, hyenas (brown and spotted), flying Kori Bustards and much more. One highlight was the special Dinner to my birthday. The employees and Manager Tom Hendrik organized a very special event. Thanks for this. I was emotionally deeply touched. THANKS!!! Also thanks to Mr. Steiner, owner of Rhulani for all his help and understanding for all our questions and wishes. We will definitly come back. And we can highly recommend these Lodge deep in the wonderful Bush of Madikwe. Thanks !

Wir waren im März 2025 für 4 Tage in der Rhulani Lodge im Madikwe game Reserve. Wir waren vorher scho mehrere Male in Südafrika und anderen afrikanischen Ländern. Der Aufenthalt in der Rhulani Safari Lodge war aber der grossartigste den wir bisher erlebt haben, Grosse Ruhe zum Entspannen und trotzdem eine Aufmerksamkeit des ganzen Teams. Eine herrliche Umgebung mit aussergewöhnlichen Guides mit grossem Wissen und grosser Liebe zur Natur. Wir hatten sehr beeindruckende Tierbeobachtungen, die unvergesslich bleiben werden ,wegen der Intensität und Einmaligkeit. Unser Guide ,wie auch die anderen waren grossartig. Tolle Unterkünfte (Chalets), wunderbares Essen. Jeder Mitarbeiter war herzlich . Wir wollen wiederkommen

We had a fabulous four days at Rhulani! Madikwe is an underappreciated gem with a wonderful variety of habitats and great management (notably the restrictions on the number of vehicles at a sighting, beautifully managed by all the guides working as a team). We are veterans of many safaris in Eastern and Southern Africa, but we concluded that James was the best guide we had ever had---an inexhaustible source of knowledge and insight, ever-enthusiastic about sharing it, and always happy to bend over backwards to accommodate everyone's preferences. The staff at the Lodge were wonderful too, down to taking the time to teach us the "wedding dance" so that we wouldn't embarrass ourselves (too much) at our next stop. Thank you so much to all! We will return.

We spent 6 days at Rhulani and had unforgettable moments on our various game drives. It was our 6th safari after several game reserves in Kenia & Tanzania and Welgevonden in South Africa. The standard of the lodge however, compared to other 5 star lodges we stayed at, doesn't reach the luxury standard as advertised. One detail, for example, was that the bath towels had a very unpleasant odor, which became even worse when wet. We mentioned this several times but still received smelly towels. Since we had received a generous discount, we decided to let it go. The meals were average for our taste and compared to other lodges. The staff, on the other hand, were mostly very welcoming. The view from our chalet was beautiful overlooking the waterhole, where elephants, zebras and other animals were constantly frolicking.

Apart from the spectacular sightings of cheetahs, lions, lion cubs, black & white rhino, elephants, Crimson breasted shrike and the list goes on. We had a fantastic time at Rhulani. We were welcomed by the Signature welcome wave every single time we went out and came back. Our guide, James, the best we ever experienced on a game drive, added a personal touch by remembering stories everyone told. He had an inclusive approach by making sure every single one on the game vehicle gets to see what they asked to see. Being conscious of birdwatchers and non-birdwatchers and making the experience pleasant for all. James has a passion for what he does and our drives were knowledgeable and fun. The staff at Rhulani, all Friendly and professional. Nosa, your warmth and sincere personality made us feel extra welcome. I can mention so many more names, but everyone was very kind. The boma dinner was a highlight ending with Willem& Tom’s marshmallows on s’mores. The food was good too. As South Africans, We go on lots of safaris but the friendly staff & everyone greeting each other on the Madikwe roads are something that stood out for me. It makes the experience so pleasant & relaxing. You meet other friends on these tours just by being indulged in the relaxing experience of this lodge. We will definitely visit them again and highly recommend this for your next stay.
