There was a large parking lot after passing through a tunnel from a narrow road, and Hotel Subaru was among various facilities. Like a village revitalization resort? It's a feeling. I checked in at the small front desk and entered the room. The room feels old, but it was well-cleaned and I was taken care of in a Japanese-style room, but the bedding was also clean. I was worried about the smallness of the pillow, but I slept well. The hot spring of the facility with a day trip bath was very comfortable with the open-air bath flowing directly from the source. My wife is a women's bath and the aunts in the neighborhood? It seems that he was cleaning the bathroom naked with a brush while talking. It seems that I didn't feel like it was a smile. Lol 🤗 I had a kaiseki meal at the restaurant. The restaurant was partitioned due to the corona disaster, so I was able to eat with peace of mind. The food was well seasoned and delicious. The price of a luxury ryokan is delicious and natural, but it was a comfortable and affordable accommodation with delicious food and an open-air bath with a free-flowing source. The river in front of me was transparent and very clean and the sound of the river was comfortable. It was sweet and awesome without the smell of wild boar shabu-shabu, venison sashimi, and odor for dinner. I had it with wild plants. It was very good. It was snowing until the day before, so I gave up going to the hot spring with normal tires, but I went back to the hot spring in Uda City. This was also the best. I wanted to enjoy Yoshino's hanami and see the suspension bridge of tanase, so I asked to stay at totsugawa Onsen hot spring. I asked Sansui to stay. The appearance feels a bit old, but the inside is very new and clean, hygienic and clean. The room is large. Accommodation for sightseeing and worship at Kinpusenji Temple. It's a steep slope up to the temple, so you need strong legs. If you go by car, it will take 6 km and 10 minutes. Kinpusen-ji Temple is a temple that is good at making money and has the atmosphere of a new religion. According to research in psychical science, there are no Buddhas or spirits, so it is foolish to believe in Buddhism. The food at the inn makes good use of ingredients from Nara Prefecture. However, it seems that the sweetness has won out a little too much. If you stay there for about 10 days during the cherry blossom season, like the literary greats of the past, it might be interesting from a historical and religious perspective. I also need money.

I enjoyed the chartered state by saying that it was the end of the consecutive holidays. The inn is also kind and nothing to say. I wish the amenities were a little more substantial.

I did a one night stay and 2 nights before I go, I called the owner to request him to add breakfast and dinner to my booking. He mentioned that he could fix something simple if I didn't mind as his wife would be busy. He offered to pick me up from Shimoichiguchi station when he knew I was going by train. After picking me up, he brought me to a famous temple on the way. It was not somewhere I could visit without driving so I was appreciative. He explained that the house was left behind by his mother and he decided to convert it to a guesthouse last year. There is a famous shrine with a Noh stage within 10 mins walk from the guesthouse and I went there twice as there was a procession at 8am the next morning. There is also Amano river where waters are clear and fishermen can be seen occasionally. Dinner will eventually still prepared by the owner's wife. Food was fresh and delicious. I had beef stew with whole grain rice and several side dishes from the town. As the nearby onsen was closed until June, I decided to visit Dorogawa onsen during checkout. The owner offered to drive me there at no charges. The guesthouse was tastefully converted from a 2 century old house with a nice fusion of new and old. Guests could use the living area with stove heating, bar counter, bathroom and toilets. There are only 2 bedrooms so chances are, you can get some peaceful relaxation. The owner speaks limited English but he uses an electronic pocket tool to help him communicate with overseas guest. His room rates are very very reasonable and he and his wife are both very kind and friendly. They really go all out to make your stay pleasant so give the guesthouse a try. The owner heard I wanted to see stars though I told him I did not expect to since the weather forecast was cloudy. He checked the skies at 9pm and told me that some stars could be seen and took me to a dark stargazing spot nearby. I was happy as I managed to take some decent photos.

Lake view from room is superb and hotel staff is fantastic. Room has no shower tub so guests must use the public onsen, which can be cleaner like all common area (maybe it is the age of the hotel showing). Outdoor onsen is lovely, but English information is lacking on how to access it, like all facilities here since the staff speaks no English and no English hotel manuals are provided. Hotel did not provide dinner service during my stay and there was only one Okonomiyaki restaurant nearly. Mosquitos galore in my room and I was bitten all over (probably due to the lakeside location); even the anti-mosquito solution provided by the hotel did not help. Even considering the higher room price, it is a treat to visit this amazingly beautiful, remote corner of Japan.
