A great location on the edge of York. Paul was welcoming & provided excellent knowledge of the local area. The room was fabulous & the breakfast of excellent quality. All the little extra touches throughout the B&B make it a great place to stay. Would recommend wholeheartedly & will be back if we travel to York again

A very cozy family run business. The rooms were bright and large. The bathrooms were well designed and had great showers. The owners were very friendly and interested in their Guests. they provided a well designed map to help you find your way around York. They also Provided information on where are good places to eat, and different attractions that people don’t always know about. They had a beautiful garden it was peaceful and calm. Paul does all the cooking and the breakfasts are fantastic. He has a special most days such as waffles and berries, omelette with all the fillings and also a green omelette made with spinach. Fiona makes home-made jams, marmalade, butter and shortbread. There are tea and coffee facilities in each room. They buy local products and are very dedicated to finding excellent products. A fridge that has the milk and drinks that you can buy. There is an honesty bar for different drinks. It is very close to most attractions in the old old town Centre. They have won awards as the best guest houses in York.

We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived at Monkbridge house, directed to our pre-booked parking space and given some fantastic information about things to see and do in York, along with advice on restaurants in the area. We had arranged for flowers, bubbles and chocs in the room as it was a special occasion and they did not disappoint, they were beautiful. Breakfast options were absolutely fantastic and it was delicious. Will definitely be returning.

This is the most beautiful bed and breakfast we’ve ever stayed in. Gorgeous property in a great location in York, lovingly restored by Paul and Fiona. The rooms are stunning, as are the common spaces. Paul is a great chef who cooks breakfast to order every morning with a restaurant menu of choices. I cannot say enough to recommend Monk Bridge House when you are in York. Thank you, Paul and Fiona!

2nd visit which probably says it all. Excellent stay everywhere spotless with attentive hosts who clearly want your stay to be unique compared to a chain hotel. Breakfast spot on with the best quality ingredients. Thanks for another lovely stay.

Das Monkbridge House ist mit seiner bewegten Geschichte ein „Miniatur- York“ mitten in der Stadt, dabei ruhig und mit kleinem Garten; mit vielen Facetten, die Fiona und Paul lebendig und meisterhaft täglich persönlich umsetzen. Darüber ist schon viel geschrieben worden. Die zu Recht verliehenen Preise sprechen für sich. Pauls Begrüßung und auch die Lektüre seiner Empfehlungen zu Lokalen und Sehenswertem von Dauer und aktuell in York waren ein sehr inspirierender Einstieg für uns Neulinge in die fünfdimensionale uralte Stadt. Wir bedanken uns herzlich und wünschen euch alles Gute 🦄🦄🦄

Perfect stay from start to finish. A warm welcome to our beautiful room. It was super clean and I loved the fabulous wallpaper. Lots of choice in the mini bar and snacks. Wonderful low lighting in the bathroom. Breakfast was delightful. Everything you could possibly think of. Ask if you can’t see what you want. I suspect they will find it for you! Homemade jams are the cherry on top of a truly delicious breakfast cake! This is not the cheapest accommodation in York but it is definitely value for money and if you can manage to get a parking space it is on a par with many properties. Walkable into York centre.

A lovely B&B in a great location just a short walk to the city centre. Beautifully decorated, a lovely garden area, really comfy beds and a great bathroom. The breakfast was tasty too. We will definitely be staying again.

Fabulous! This is like staying in a favorite relative's home. The house and our room were spotless and attractively appointed. The hosts were wonderful: their attention to detail was impressive. Everything about our stay was just first rate. They even make their own butter! Also, and importantly, the house is within easy walking distance of the center of things.
