Lovely hotel and perfectly situated for sightseeing. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Great night's sleep as beds are really comfy. Close to shops and local amenities. Pubs close by are really nice a great local people. Bus stop across road made it easier to travel around.

Good base for exploring the city. close to city centre and main attractions. Great breakfast, although I don’t rate the veggie sausages in any premier inn! Room nice and quiet, clean and of a good standard. Quiet and comfortable bed. Standard of room cleaning ok.

The hotel bar is very expensive compared to local pubs like the Micklegate and the Punch Bowl where you can get drinks at half the price, and a much better atmosphere. Also the hotel bar closed 1 hour and 20 minutes earlier than advertised. Breakfast can also be found locally much cheaper and better quality.

Too expensive for even the basic hotel and service was very poor asked 4 times for poached eggs for breakfast and it never came also the table was not cleaned sat there with for one hour with used plates still there. Payed top price and was given a basic room and service

I’ve previously stayed at this hotel in the summer during the heatwave and remember it being a king size bed with clean facilities. Location of the hotel is great, close to work offices, close to train station and a short walk to the centre for shopping. Unfortunately this time I was in a poor standard room. Mould in the bathroom, peeling shower door, and a hole in the duvet cover, and pillows without pillowcases. It’s such a pain having to complain about what use to be basic standards with premier inn. I’m not sure what I will do the next time I stay in York for work.

We were in the Minster building in the yard which we felt was ready for a refurb. Needed a very good clean. Room had no character and certainly overpriced. We had to go up the street for meals. It’s clearly very well used. On a positive it’s close to the station and on a bus route.
