Burn Hall Hotel

We have stayed at Burn Hall several times now. We asked on arrival that the room was not near a generator/fan and was reassured that room 129 should be ok. Unfortunately there was a constant furnace like sound in the bathroom. Fortunately when the door was closed you could hardly hear it in the bedroom. There was no view to speak of out of the window just a hedge with a caravan on the other side. The room itself was ok, although there was a white mark on the curtains that looked like toothpaste. The bed was ok, but the pillows quite flat. The bathroom could do with an update. The shower rail was rusty and the curtain stained, it would be best replaced with a shower screen. The shower itself is not on a bar where you can slide it to the appropriate level to avoid getting hair wet so I had to hold it and unfortunately the water went right through the shower curtain and soaked the floor. The building is a lovely building with nice grounds. There was no problem parking. It is quite a way from York, but we drove to the park and ride cark park and got the bus into the centre of York for £3.80 return. The place looks like it has new carpet throughout. The meal in the restaurant on the first night was lovely. I had the pork loin with mash and cabbage with bacon. Husband had the pie meal. The staff are lovely polite and very professional. If you want the room cleaning you have to request this through reception. We never bother on a two night stay. I would recommend this hotel. It is really good value for money and with a few tweaks to the bathroom could be even better.

We have been going to Burn Hall for many years usually two or three times for short breaks. The hotel is very clean and the accommodation is good. The staff are all very helpful from the reception to the restaurant. The restaurant is excellent and many of the staff have been there for several years they all make you feel welcome. Hopefully we will be back for another break in the autumn. Burn Hall is very good value for money and would throughly recommend.

This was a lovely hotel really clean and well maintained. Beautiful building. We will be back !! Even in hot weather the rooms and corridors were cool. Food was lovely - only thing I can think of for change was that there were no pastries at breakfast and the opening of the window in the room was very restricted indeed. There were no fans available in the room for use.

We bought a TravelZoo voucher that included a 2 night B&B stay at the Burn Hall Hotel, with free entry to the adjoining York Bird of Prey Centre, plus a cream tea. It was great value for money! We had breakfast, dinner and a cream tea there, and all the food was very good, and the portions were generous. The staff were nice, and the room was very clean with a super comfortable bed. We'd certainly stay there again if in that area. No complaints whatsoever!
