I will never stay in this hotel again. It is right next to York Minster. The window of the room can see half of the church. It costs more than 3,000 a night. There are no slippers, no toothbrush, no pajamas, no breakfast, and the room facilities are old. The toilet is a rope-type on the roof. You need to stand to flush it. You can imagine it. The quilt and pillow are still the old cotton. It has not been changed for a long time. The room is only large. Note that it only takes a few dozen minutes to walk around the old city of York. The next day, I asked to check out at 10:30. It is usually 12 o'clock, right? So just based on this window view, service and facilities, I feel that the price is unreasonable.

Stayed here over the weekend and cannot praise the staff enough. They made me feel at ease right away and were kind enough to look after my suitcase before I could check in and also after I checked out. Also where explaining where my room was, this was done discreetly as it should be. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. I'd had booked to go out for an evening meal elsewhere, but the Dean Court does offer a restaurant. The breakfast is freshly cooked and I opted for Eggs Royale, but would pretty much recommend anything as it all smelt nice. I would definitely recommend staying here, situated in a prime location across the road from York Minster. I know when I visit York again, either with family, friends, or a solo trip, whichever it may be, I will look to stay here again.

The Dean court ligt midden in het centrum van York; direct naar the York minster. Het hele centrum van York is te voet te bereiken. Het hotel is gevestigd in een oud pand en de inrichting is klassiek Engels. Dat geldt ook voor de kamers die goed schoon zijn. Het ontbijt is hoofdzakelijk Engels. Helemaal niets mis mee, maar houdt hier wel rekening mee als je een Europees ontbijt verwacht. Het hotel beschikt over een eigen parkeerplaats een stukje verderop. Je auto wordt daar door het hotel naartoe gebracht (vallet parking). De kamers zijn standaard niet voorzien van airconditioning, maar tot onze aangename verrassing stond er wel een losse airco unit in onze (en andere) kamers. Een absolute plus. Belangrijkste kritiekpunt is toch wel de staat van onderhoud van de algemene ruimten. Het schilderwerk en de vloerbedekking is aan vervanging toe. Al met al hebben wij ons bezoek als positief ervaren en willen het hotel zeker aanbevelen.
