Really pleased with our stay here. Our room was warm, large and had everything we needed. The view was lovely. The building itself is very interesting too.

Online check in wasn't working new system issues but that was ok. Very friendly staff. 24hr reception,menu etc. breakfast prices need updating as they are £8 not £6. Light help yourself breakfast pastries toast, cereal and coffee. Nice spacious dining hall. Plenty of communal areas to sit and relax and the bar is a great place to meet and chat to people. The stairs were a challenge after a long day for me but rooms comfy. Curtains around beds give you good privacy. Trinity church over the road has lots of history and worth a visit. Regency Chinese is a great place to eat a short walk away. Close to the walls,station,city,bridges etc.. great for sight seeing. In a quiet part of the city. Loved my stay. Would stay here again. Great value.

Cold room..
Warmer not warm enough at allll.
Bath water not warm enough even in this weather...
Room is dusty..
No call services, had to travel to the ground floor from 3rd floor for any enquiry.
Normal hotel toothpaste not available
All of these are just basic things that do not cost much for any hotel.
Highly inconvenient stay..Highly DISSATISFIED..

The service is very good, the transportation is convenient, it is close to the train station, the room is clean and sanitary, and the price-performance ratio is high. If I come to York next time, I will choose here again

Extremely comfortable hostel located in a beautiful historic building in the centre of York. The surrounding area is full of history - one of the most architecturally interesting parts of York. Easy access to the town centre.
Lovely cafes and pubs abound!
The staff are welcoming and courteous !
