The hotel was amazing as soon as we entered it. The retro lobby was decorated with Christmas decorations, full of the unique York style. The Courtyard Room we booked was sold out, so we were upgraded to a larger room for free. The soft furnishings were also amazing when we opened the door. ☹️Then the disappointing details began: 1. The sink was clogged; 2. There were no slippers; 3. The disposable toothbrush was of poor quality; 4. There was hair on the bed; 5. There were socks in the corner of the closet; 6. Only one bath towel was replaced on Day 2; 7. The breakfast was too simple, and the ordered English breakfast was served very slowly. We waited for ten minutes when there were only three tables and we were the first table.

The room is new, clean and decorated in retro style! I like the dining room very much, it is retro, very British style, and very textured! I booked a family connecting room. Ctrip showed 2 single beds and 1 large double bed, which is just right for our family of four, but the front desk gave me a double bed room and a sofa bed. The sofa bed is only about 1.3 meters. My brother and sister don’t want to sleep together because the bed is too small! There is a discrepancy here! The merchant said there are no rooms, and it is not the main building, but an annex building on a small road next door. There is no elevator for 4 large suitcases, so I have to lift them up by myself, which is very strenuous!
