Although short staffed, and the food, particularly the gammon, which was tough stringy and came without pineapple, was variable, Kelsey and Kim worked like Trojans and showed great humour in making our evening a fun and enjoyable experience for which they should be praised and paid well. Won’t be rushing back due to food being of a poor standard but would certainly recommend it for the friendly and hard working staff

As with all of these Inn Group pubs, the buildings and furnishings are beautiful and that's where the positivity ends. I don’t know whether they can't retain staff or just don’t hire enough but yesterday we queued for over half an hour for a drink and were told that the waiting time for any food would be well over an hour. Only one girl serving behind the bar and although she was doing her best she was painfully slow.

Paid £140 for average food and a £170 parking fine for the privilege of using the pub's car park. Did not see sign on way in and left just 5 minutes after the 2 hours allowed for diners. After sending several communications showing proof of custom, Smart Parking refused appeal. The King's Head washes it's hands of any parking related issues, do yourself a favour, save the stress and give it a miss.

Visited for Sunday dinner. Beautiful location, the views of Roseberry Topping, plus the interior are absolutely stunning. A gorgeous pub in a stunning location. I just thought the food let it down. I was expecting to be blown away with unique food that matched the surroundings but it wasn’t great. The beef was a little fatty and chewy. There wasn’t a great deal of veg, the gravy wasn’t incredible. It was very forgettable. The only big bonus was the roasties- tasted like they’d been cooked in beef or goose fat and were delicious. The Yorkshire was ok too, but overall it just was a a bit bland. I ordered a sticky toffee pudding for dessert and it was burnt and unchewable at the edges and the sauce was horribly sweet. Just really not was I was expecting from such a lovely looking pub

Wonderfully pub, fantastic food and the customer service is second to none! Yes some of the bathrooms are a little tired but they are always clean and the beds are comfortable and spotlessly clean 👌 All in all, a brilliant place to stay

The parking situation is un clear .Visited 35 plus years ago did not see any signage that specified sign in on arrival .Upon entry greeted by manager next to reception which was unmanned no indication from him as to sign in procedure. Ordered at bar and conversation with barmaid who had been there 43 years again manager standing next tome. Again no indication from him re sign in procedure. NICE when three weeks later you're slapped with £100 fine reduced to£60 paid within time frame.Would've been professional if manager and said barmaid had made clear to me and my colleague that there was a procedure to follow.Well there you go after having run my own buissines for 32years it appears big buissines doesn't give a joht about customer retention.Well done Inn group having supported you years in the lakes northallerton,Harrogate plus many more I have run of patience at 79 years of age I hope I get a reply because like many people who have supported you over your meteoric rise to the ,we deserve one.I know my grammar is nor brilliant but I hope I have got my point across. Yours Sincerely JOHN TODD

Like a lot of other reviewers I was caught out by the draconian parking charge of £60. When ordering my coffees at the bar I checked with the staff member that I was okay to park in the car park and I seem to remember providing them with my registration number. HOWEVER they did not remind me that I only had 2 hours to park and had to pay if I wanted to stay longer. For the life of me I did not expect that a pub would have such an ******* and unfriendly policy. I will certainly never return to the Kings Head ever again, AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

I have had lunch there each week for the past 3 weeks. Got a parking charge £100 even though I entered my details correctly at the bar. The machine does not give out anything to confirm it so I have no way of proving it. I have my card statement for over £50 for the meal. Maybe get more charges for the other visits. No way of speaking to anyone by phone. I will not be going there again.
