Let's start with the good things. This is a health and wellness town, built along Yanxia Lake, organized into clusters of small courtyards. The hotel rooms were quite nice, with two 1.5-meter beds and excellent cleanliness. The town itself is beautiful, with elegant flowing bridges and water. As a hot spring resort, there's a cafe and a light meal. The room comes with two hot spring tickets, and since I'd enjoyed a private onsen in Xinzhou Ancient Town the previous day, I didn't use this one. I was very satisfied with everything. The only downside is that the hotel has a Chinese restaurant. The food was quite good, so I ate there twice. The first meal, the pan-fried Qingyuan chicken with black truffles, was a small portion but delicious. I ordered it again the next day. The second day's dish was burnt, and since we were pressed for time, we told the restaurant manager about it and ate some of the unburned parts. When we asked the manager what to do, he insisted it was just the charcoal-like smell and normal. I'm not sure if it was charcoal-black and still edible, I'm not sure. The chef then offered a discount or a remake. Since we were pressed for time, we agreed. Originally, this meeting could have ended. The problem was, the manager quoted me a total of 218 yuan, saying the Qingyuan chicken (158 yuan per portion) was 50% off. This price was obviously a bit off, as I could tell immediately. Sure enough, I used the hotel's calculator and it was only 189 yuan. Then he changed his tune and said it was 30% off. That's a bit off. Overall, this hotel is okay—clean, well-equipped, and the housekeeping department extended my stay, which I'm very grateful for. However, they still need to improve on the restaurant's food.
