I drove to Xiamen on the weekend to meet a friend and booked the Hilton Garden Inn online. Having stayed with this brand in other cities before, I didn't hesitate when making the reservation. Upon arrival, I found it to be excellent, as always. Stepping into the lobby, the cool air was an immediate antidote to Xiamen's sweltering 38-degree heat we'd experienced for the past two days. The lobby also had juice and boiled water available, which allowed my family to rest a bit and made the check-in wait time much more pleasant. The room was very clean, the air conditioning cooled very well, and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, it was a very satisfying trip!

The hotel is located east of the intersection of Xingbin Road and Maqing Road in Jimei District, Xiamen City. It is located in the surrounding waters of Maluan Bay. It is suitable for a variety of accommodation options such as business trips, leisure, and self-driving tours. This hotel stay truly exceeded my expectations! Starting with the room, a special thanks to the front desk staff for the complimentary upgrade! The space was incredibly generous, feeling anything but cramped. Pushing open the balcony door revealed an even greater surprise: a breathtaking panoramic view that encompassed both the sea and the gardens. Every photo I snapped looked postcard-perfect. The staff's service was also exceptionally heartwarming. Check-in was super efficient, and they proactively introduced all the hotel facilities. Their always-smiling attitude and patient answers to any questions made me feel genuinely cared for and at ease. Breakfast offered a decent variety. From Chinese congee, steamed buns, and fried noodles to Western bread, everything tasted great. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time!

My personal advice is to choose your accommodation based on your travel itinerary. Since most of our trip wasn't spent on the island, and considering the value for money, we opted to stay in the local area (off the island). Overall: The customer service staff (especially the ladies) were very friendly and responsive to any issues. Their service was truly excellent. Dining: There aren't many dining options in the immediate vicinity. There's a Satay Noodle shop nearby; I didn't get to try it, but it looked promising. I did try the fish congee (porridge), and it was delicious, especially the pan-fried fish that came with it. A tip for future guests: for food, just stick to the options downstairs or order delivery. Don't bother wandering through the alleys; you'll likely find ordering takeout a much better and more convenient choice. Lastly, for families with children, consider spending a couple of hours at the mudflats directly opposite. About two hours should be ample time for some fun. One final point: the soundproofing. The noise from doors closing is quite loud and disruptive. It would be great if this could be improved.
