We had a beautiful stay at Lan Hua Li and strongly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Xiamen. The setting of the hotel is gorgeous, on a hill just up from Shapowei. Walking distance (including to Nan Pu Tuo and Xiamen University), but a peaceful world away from the city overlooking Xiamen harbour. The property itself is very beautiful with a lovely outdoor area and gardens with a shallow pool, and a very peaceful bistro/cafe/bar. The rooms are beautiful. Just as you see in the photos. While the bed is lovely and the views gorgeous, the real winner is the bathtub in the bedroom. I'm not usually a bath person, but I bathed every night of our 6 night stay and loved it. In addition to this, there is also a very functional large bathroom with shower. What made the stay particularly charming is the kindness of the staff. Everyone - from the managers to the breakfast staff to the early morning cleaner who chatted to me while I had my dawn cigarette in the garden - was very welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. As a foreigner, with practical challenges travelling in China, I cannot emphasise enough how reassuring and helpful this was. We will always remember our stay at Lan Hua Li, and will recommend it to our friends and perhaps will come to stay again someday if we ever want a nostalgic holiday in Xiamen. I am very happy to stay at Home Inn (Xiamen University Nanputuo Temple Branch) during this vacation in Xiamen. I heard that this store has free coffee and laundry services. We stayed here for four nights. It has a superior location. You can walk to Xiamen University, Nanputuo Temple, the Yanwu Bridge Observation Deck known as the ”sea overpass”, Shapowei and many other attractions. There are many buses outside the door, so it is also very convenient to ride a bike or take a taxi. After checking in, the front desk service was enthusiastic and introduced the use of coffee machines and washing machines. It was very considerate. I wanted to go to the beach, so I tried to ask the front desk staff if there were slippers. He immediately brought us two pairs of slippers. I was happy. I went to the Coconut Wind Village and came back to wash and return them to the front desk [Yeah] In addition, because I walked a lot during the day, my feet were blistered. I asked the front desk if there was iodine, and they immediately brought us iodine sticks. Stayed here for one night, the experience was very good.
