We chose this hotel for it's price and location for a girlie getaway. We arrived when the pub opened around 12 noon and the staff kindly looked after our cases until check in at 4. They even refrigerated our boxed cake from an early lunch. We stayed in The Sandon on the first floor. First impressions were a neat, clean room if a little snug. Toilet and shower separate in the room but it is an old building. Comfy bed and a helpful fan which we kept on all night. Fridge and coffee making facilities in working order. Morning continental hamper was sufficient for us. Some noise from the beer garden directly below us but nothing major as we were out till late ourselves. Overall, great location and friendly staff.

we stayed at this hotel overnight save driving all the way to Bath in one go . so this is kinda the halfway stop. on Arrival we were met by Holly who was really very welcoming explained that we could have the continental breakfast that came with the booking or have a proper old English cooked breakfast for £7 per person opted for the cooked breakfast and paid. Holly showed us to our room which was on the 2 nd floor on entering it was like entering an olde world room. A double bed by the window with steps to climb which really fascinated me tea coffee making facilities fridge in the wardrobe tv at the door of the bed. Stable and 2 chairs to sit on and then the huge bathroom which had a waterfall shower also a bath hand basin and toilet. OMG the bed was the best bed i had ever slept in you sank into the bed and it wrapped around you like a comfort blanket i woke this morning feeling totally refreshed after a good nights sleep. Went down for breakfast which was in an alcove to the right of the bar, with everything you could want from cornflakes, Orange juice, Jams , yogurts. the breakfast was a choice of Bacon, sausage, fried scrambled or poached egg, beans, tomotoes, mushroom, and blackpudding and white or wholemeal toast. Nothing was too much trouble. we will definately be back

Great pub / hotel loved it. A very different hotel being the oldest pub in Worcester. Absolutely loved the Cardinals Hat, we will be back.

Indiscriminate service by female who failed to support the offer made by a colleague. Unimpressed by drinking making mistakes which are not offered to be rectified. Incorrect orders should be willingly put right. A rum and black nightcap is precisely that … Red rum and blackcurrant cordial…. At no point does soda water enter this mixture. Accept that the bartender made a mistake and honour the transaction which was made . Disappointing and underwhelming.

Stayed in Elgar room. Bath is amazing!! Bed slightly hard but adequate. Carpet very dusty. Room was extremely hot!. We had the radiators off and the windows open and was 0° outside but this room was raging hot!. Also smoke alarm went off in our room only!? Is this the ******* room??? Also the noise outside was really loud. I think early Monday am is day of glass bin collections up and down the street . Service was great. Lad in bar and guy on breakfast duty really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Poached eggs were lovely but rest of breakfast just so so. Great price for a Sunday stay though !

Great pub in Worcester to stay We loved the Cardinal’s Hat. Fantastic pub and a wonderful place to stay. The bedrooms have been refurbished to a very high standard, beautiful comfy bed and very clean. Fantastic breakfast. Only sorry that we couldn’t stay longer but we will definitely return.

Great old place. Amazing old property. Reeks of history with a great little bar. Virtually no internet connection in the room. Terrific location, with historic Worcester within walking distance.

Good option A very nice stay. Though the rooms are above a pub, it was a quiet sleep. No on-site parking, but right across the street there is a municipal parking garage which wasn't too expensive. The Cathedral is a very short walk. The inn provided a nice continental breakfast. The pub scene was quite nice...the locals were friendly and welcomed this American.
