Formerly a coach house built in 1890, The Coach House is located in the heart of the Lake District and 2 minutes’ drive from Windermere town center and the shores of Lake Windermere. Free off-road parking for all rooms except our Single Room. Excellent WiFi is provided through out the property.
An en suite shower room is included in each room at The Coach House, as well as a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some feature cast-iron beds and antique furniture.
Continental breakfast is delivered to your room between 08.00 and 09.00 to be enjoyed in your own space. Packed breakfasts can be arranged for early risers wanting to get up and out early.
A local train service runs from Oxenholme station to Windermere and the property are 10-15 minutes’ walk from the station. Many activities are available with the Lake District National Park, such as riverside strolls, cycling through forests or hiring a boat or kayak.
The Coach House is ideal for those looking to discover the local area and its attractions. Consequently, we have implemented a curfew to guarantee that our guests are not disrupted during their rest at night. The curfew is in place from midnight to 6:30 a.m. Additionally, a quiet policy is in place from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. to ensure that the property remains tranquil for all to appreciate.

The coach house is a delightful bed and breakfast ,extremely clean with period features ,very comfortable bed too also in a great location ,near to all local amenities within 5 /10 mins walk from Windermere or Bowness on Windermere. Mark and Emma are the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble ,the continental breakfast brought to your room was a really lovely touch with top quality produce , Thank you for our most amazing stay and we hope you see you very soon .

My stay at the Coach House was absolutely amazing thanks to the wonderful hosts, Emma and Mark! They went above and beyond to ensure that my trip was perfect, and we couldn't have asked for better hospitality. The accommodation was comfortable and immaculate, and the location was perfect for exploring the surrounding area. The property is perfectly located in the heart of Pooley Bridge. It has an amazing garden at the rear of the property. However it is in need of some updating. The oven and hob are not fit for purpose and are old and dated. The outside seating needs replacing as it is worn and torn! Some of the furniture is worn and needs replacing.

This is the third time we have stayed at the coach house and it won't be the last! Each time we have been, we have been really happy with the accommodation and breakfast. The property is situated ideally between Windermere and Bowness, therefore a great place to take in both the town and lake. This time we booked the premium king ensuite room in the main house, and we were happy with the extra space to relax and unwind that made it feel like a home from home! We plan on going again and trying their new studio with a balcony, that Emma and Mark were kind enough to let us view in advance! The hosts are great, and know the area very well, capable of offering you ideas if you're stuck. They're always there if you need them, but not over the top. 10/10

Lovely stay, perfect hosts. Breakfast brought to room, juices, croissants, toast, butter, jams, fresh fruit and yogurt. Great start to the day not having to rush to get to dining room for breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Room pleasant and warm.

Stayed here for 2 nights midweek, wish it could have been longer! The location is perfect for walking into Bowness or Windermere and the room we had was superb. Plenty of room, great bathroom and dressing area. Continental Breakfast plentiful and Fresh, couldn’t fault anything Definitely rebooking soon

Absolutely loved our stay at The Coach House, we booked the king suite (room 4) which was large ,bright, airy and tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. It was our first time in the Lake District and we were not disappointed. The hosts Mark and Emma were very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of advice on where to eat out etc. The bed was super comfy, continental breakfast ( which is delivered to your room) was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Stayed a weekend in july2023...lovely place and felt most welcomed by the host Mark and Emma..amazing breakfast brought to your door..just place the order night before..cleanliness was at the top of the agenda for the coachouse and nothing was to much trouble. Will defo stay again..car park was useful...although within walking distance of windermere as that's all we did even with the rain!!..room was lovely and fridge in room helped for few bits needed for us..overall will stay again and we did check out the studio apartment and maybe we will look at staying there as looked amazing...defo be back and credit to Mark and Emma at keeping a lovely place.

Just returned from a lovely weekend, staying at the coach house, we absolutely loved our stay, Mark and Emma very welcoming, a lovely couple who couldn't do enough for you, we stayed in room 4, beautiful and very clean, super cozy bed, nice seating area, and breakfast brought up yo your room, was delicious, lovely hot toast, fresh fruit and coffee, etc, if I had to say one minor fault and not really a fault at all! just a suggestion would be to offer tea in a morning aswell as coffee, only because we are big tea drinkers, we didn't go without tho has we had tea and fresh milk in the room. Thankyou for a lovely stay and hope to return very soon .
