Maps available and great advice on where to go. A real home from home I really can't recommend this place enough. The location is perfect, the rooms are lovely (and spotless) with thoughtful little touches to make your stay perfect, such as a Kendal mint cake on your pillow! One of the most endearing things about this place is Paul and Sue, they really go out of their way to make your stay personalised and special. Each morning they cook your breakfast with the kitchen doors open so you can have a bit of banter and chat, they make their home your home for the stay. They can give you great advice on where to go and how to get there and really listen during conversations, as they are sure to ask you how it went the next morning. The breakfasts are lovely and the options available are more than adequate. I have traveled to the lakes most years since I was little, however after coming across this gem of a guest house, I will certainly be returning here at least once a year- if they'll have us! Be sure to book quickly as with only a few rooms and such good quality for price, you'll be the one missing out.

Me and my boyfriend stay here for two nights over the new year and were really impressed with the whole place and would definitely stay here again in the future. We were shown around by Sue when we arrived who was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very nicely decorated, clean and a decent size with en suite bathroom. Sue and Paul had very kindly provided us with a flask of mulled wine, mince pies and mint cake, which was a very nice touch. The breakfast both mornings was excellent, very tasty and a lot of choice available. We were also very impressed with the times as on new years day they had later breakfast times which was great as you didnt have to be up really early to get fed. Overall we loved our stay at Montfort and the hosts were professional, friendly and welcoming, with a good knowledge of the area. Both Sue and Paul should be very proud of this lovely b and b!
