The hotel is right on the edge of Lake Windermere, with a very good environment. It is so beautiful and comfortable to sit by the window, look at the lake through the green lawn, and eat English breakfast. We ordered dinner, which was also very good, especially the appetizers. The room is also very large, and we can see the lake in our room. It is very shocking to get up in the morning and look at the lake under the blue sky and white clouds. The facilities are also very good. It is a hotel that is worth staying in many times.

The hotel is in a classical building, a typical grand mansion of British aristocrats. As soon as you enter the door, you can feel the old-fashioned atmosphere, whether it is the decoration or the smell (carpet). The hotel has a great view, the garden covers a large area, and is located on a small peninsula by the lake, so there are lake views on both sides. The hotel has two restaurants, lake edge is more formal (also where breakfast is served), and there is a small restaurant with modern decoration. The dishes are very good, the portions are also quite large, and it is super value. The hotel does not have an elevator. The luggage attendant will help deliver it to the room, but you have to be mentally prepared to climb the stairs every day. Fortunately, it is not high. British hotels do not put toothbrushes and razors in the room. You need to ask for them at the front desk, but this is the only one that needs to pay for toothbrushes separately, 2.5 pounds a pair. It is three kilometers away from the center of Windermere. There is only one bus line 6 to get there, but the frequency is very rare, basically every two hours. You can either walk or take a taxi to get in and out. Overall, I am satisfied. It is also a luxury hotel ranked among the top in the Lake District, but it has a strong sense of age.
