The Greenbrier Hotel

The building was pretty amazing from outside and the scenery great. Inside, things were rather badly overdecorated, while the rooms were barely modernized 1950s hotel rooms. They weren't *bad*, but they were not remotely worth the money. The food, while good, was grossly overpriced.

My friends and I were all turning 70 in the spring and we wanted a fun place to celebrate together! The Greenbrier was perfect! It was cold and snowy but warm as toast near the fireplace close by the lobby bar! We had delicious food in the dining room, fun indoor activities, made a run to Lewisburg to check it out, and played in the ****** each night! We couldn't have asked for a better time! Everything was perfect!

A spectacular historic structuring that I’ve enjoyed since I was a child. Some people are Disney adults…I’m a Greenbrier adult. I visit 4-6 times a year. Enjoy slowing down and letting your blood pressure drop. My only wish, a dance floor even on the week days.

We have been to The Greenbrier many times - the first to experience the bunker and then fell in love with it and have been coming back since. There's something really magical about this little piece of paradise tucked into the mountains of WV that can't be explained, only felt. You're always greeted at the door with friendly smile and help with your bags. The gentleman make it so seamless when you arrive that you are in the building without a car or bags and handsfree to explore in under 2 mins usually. Check in was also super easy and they provide you with a glass of champagne now which was so decadent! We walked around and got reacquainted for some time and then checked out our room before heading down to the Twelve Oaks for drinks and a quick bite. We hit all of our Must Do's while there: Prime 44 (always so delicious), the shops, breakfast in bed, the candy store, massages, tea time, and leisure walking and exploring the property. This time, we really took a moment to enjoy the tea time entertainers and were really impressed with their talents! We have previously done the Falconry and horseback riding experiences and the bunker tour a few times, and would totally do them again if the desire struck. This is one of our most favorite places in the world and we will absolutely be back, hopefully sooner than it took us to get back this time. Some of our favorite staff members: Mike, game master for the Debunked escape room, Kathy in gentleman's wear, Anthony in the Forum bar, and Dani and Katie in the spa. You all made this stay so special to us!! Thank you for another amazing memory Greenbrier ❤️

We FINALLY visited The Greenbrier after having it on my bucket list for over 40 years. We loved it! It is so elegant and beautiful and there are so many activities available. And keep in mind we went in the dead of February which is their slowest time. The entertainment was SO good. Far better than most cruises we have been on. It’s so convenient to fly into the little Lewisburg Airport and The Greenbrier offers a shuttle for a small fee. I’m already planning my next trip back! Hopefully we will be back this summer or maybe fall as the autumn foliage looks incredible. Highly recommend the Cold War bunker tour. The history is amazing and the food was great. Don’t delay booking your visit to The Greenbrier!! Support the hard working folks in WV and have yourself a ball!

We love the Greenbrier normally but had an unfortunate experience. My room (4113) had bed bugs. Photo attached. It was very inconvenient. The Greenbrier did wash our clothes for free (Toni was great as well as the gentleman from the bell stand who helped us move our stuff to the new room. We also loved the staff at the lobby bar, Fusion, and Prime 44 West ). When we checked out they comped one night’s stay but refused to address the rest of the room bill. They said they had to wait until an exterminator came to inspect the room to validate in fact we had bed bugs. A few days after our check-out I called the Greenbrier back and was told that Orkin found “no evidence of activity” even though we showed the Greenbrier staff photos of two bed bugs and the two places where a bed bug had been killed (they leave small rusty looking streaks). I really appreciate the history and uniqueness of the Greenbrier and had looked forward to returning but was disappointed on how they handled this unfortunate situation. An acknowledgment and a further gesture (not just washing our clothes or comping the bed bug night) would have gone a long way. We had to dispose of our shoes and my suitcase, not to mention the time we lost dealing with this issue. I work long hours and had looked forward to spending quality time at this iconic hotel and unfortunately this took time and energy out of our trip.
