We had a lovely stay at the Fox and Hounds. Stayed for 3 nights. Beautiful characteristic pub. The room was spacious, very comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend breakfast. We had dinner too, the young chef is doing a great job in making proper pub food. Great atmosphere at the bar at night, super friendly staff. It is a great starting point to go for a walk in the Moors too. I'd definitely come back!

Lovely place to stay. Maize went out of her way to look after the gents on the coast to coast tractor run. Peg and the rest of the team did an excellent job. Breakfast are brilliant, reasonable restaurant menu. Rooms with stunning views. Such a peaceful place with amazing views down the dale. Great place for walking, or just touring the north Yorkshire Moors.

This was the fourth stay at the fox and hounds, and I'm afraid to say it will be my last. The service an quality of food has gone completely downhill. The prices of the meals are ridiculous especially when the quality is so poor. At breakfast we asked for toast for two and were presented with two slices of burnt toast cut in half! Not acceptable. It's such a shame as I used to look forward to visiting here. Very disappointed.

The Fox and Hounds - Ainthorpe. A really great experience with good food and drink together with fabulous staff. A special mention to Florence who always goes above and beyond. A proper pub and if your in the area I would highly recommend you visit.

We have been visiting this pub/ restaurant for many years but tonight was the last visit we would make. We ordered Scampi which was very overcooked (double dipped) awful chips and a few peas very disappointing. Perhaps the fact that the food was delivered to us only 5 minutes after ordering would indicate it certainly wasn’t freshly cooked

We have eaten at the Fox lots of times and the food has always been fresh and well cooked. Last night 18th May all that changed. I ordered scampi at 6.45 there wasn`t any available. My husband and I chose fish and chips, two small portions of frozen cooked fish and oven chips arrived.The waitress who served us was very nice she came back to say they had found some scampi !!!! and asked if we would like it. We said yes because of the small portions of fish. The scampi was overcooked three pieces didn`t contain any scampi. The Fox has been taken over and has a different chef. The couple on the next table asked for fish and chips there wasn`t any left. Next time we go into the Fox it will just be for a drink not food

Where is the steak pie??? This was the best steak pie in the area now apparently no longer on the menu along with lots more dishes and specials??? We had Chicken and mushroom pie which was ok, but the chips were obviously frozen ones!! No longer worth the journey from Redcar.

Room was so lovely and airy, very large bathroom. Such a comfy bed. Clean and bright room. Food both nights was excellent. Compliments to the chef. The staff were so efficient and nothing was a bother. I would highly recommend this hotel. So peaceful outside. Stunning views

Stayed here as attending a wedding at Danby castle . It was quiet , bedroom lovely and clean , staff very friendly and accommodating, breakfast delicious.. no fault whatsoever. Would definitely recommend 🙂
