Hand and Spear

We chose The Hand and Spear because it was near an event we were attending. We enjoyed our short stay so much that we intend to return for a proper break. The hotel is in a good position for visiting attractions around Weybridge, which itself seems worth exploring. We were made to feel very welcome by Sotty and his colleagues. This was a genuine welcome and he went out of his way to help us with nothing too much trouble. This included showing me exactly where we had to go for our event. The room was superb, very comfortable and nicely decorated with a butterfly theme. My husband is disabled with mobility issues and we we able to park outside and everything was ideal for my husband. We had a most comfortable night and I enjoyed the separate bath whilst the walk in shower was great for my husband. There was a generously stocked minibar and real milk for the complimentary teas plus a coffee machine. We had a delicious fish finger sandwich on arrival and the breakfast was excellent. We ordered Eggs Royale and full vegetarian. We ate in a nicely furnished conservatory and there was also a garden and outside seating area. Strongly recommended. Our only regret was that we only stayed for one night!

Room smaller than the photos seemed to indicate. However very comfortable and quiet. Pity no free biscuits to go with coffee - clearly wanted guests to BUY the peanuts etc supplied in the room. Have NOT encountered this is equivalent and better hotels!! A bit mean. Dining in the evening very good though the apple and rhubarb crumble was a bit bland. Breakfasts excellent

I stayed at the Hand and Spear as I had a business event to attend in Weybridge. Situated within easy walking distance of the station and near a nice woodland, the hotel is ideally located. I was lucky enough to stay in their feature boutique room, fabulous! The room was well equipped with everything you could need, the bed was very comfy and the free standing bath was huge and so indulgent, I could have stayed in it for hours! I always struggle with hotel sheets as I find them scratchy so take my own sheet to sleep on but it stayed in my suitcase for this stay, sumptuous! The room was really quiet and even though this was a business trip, I felt really relaxed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Had a great stay and would definitely return.

Sunday lunch and it was fabulous with generous servings, a big choice of roats and desserts which were freshly cooked. The tables are spaced out well so as not to be intrusive. The staff were polite, efficient and most helpful. First visit but won’t be the last.

We've stayed here a number of times when visiting friends and on this occasion the H & S excelled in looking after us. We were very grateful for them (Emily!) being so understanding when illness in early January preventing us travelling and one again we enjoyed a fantastic boutique room and a wonderful meal in the Restaurant. Highly recommended. We'll be back.
