Spent 6 nights at Bukela and it was a magical experience. Our guide Wonga was amazing and made the twice daily game rides the highlight. He is the BEST! Kind, knowledgeable and funny. Ana I. The kitchen created delicious, varied menus. Accommodations were perfection. Everyone was amazing. Go!

We were met with a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Our lodge was well appointed with a huge 4 poster bed and comfortable chairs and our own balcony with loungers. The fridge had complimentary beers and soft drinks. We were advised not to walk to our room in the dark without an escorts but we were never attacked by any animals! The game drives were excellent and we saw all the animals as desired. Food and service was good. Only issue we had was no water in the bath but the shower was ok. Our room was in need of some TLC. Overall an excellent stay

This trip exceeded all our expectations! The lodge was simple, yet elegant! The luxury tent was amazing! Loved that there were only 28 guests maximum. Food was delicious and plentiful! Staff were lovely - friendly and attentive. The daily drives were great! We saw so many animals and our guide, Corlia, was incredible! Knowledgeable and friendly! Made great friends with the folks in our safari vehicle. Would definitely recommend to others! It was a bucket list trip for us and we were not disappointed!

We had a wonderful time at Bukela Lodge. We stayed in one of the luxury tents and it was luxury and comfortable. As someone who has quite bad reactions to mosquito bites i was really relieved to find that there was protection in the mesh to stop them coming in and i didn't get one bite. My only negative if i have one was that our tent was the furthest from the facilities and right at the top, looking around, i think we were probably the oldest guests there at 70 that was hard going every time we wanted to get back. The staff at the lodge were really welcoming and helpful and always remembered out names. Big shout out to Zeus and SJ who were charming and helpful. Our guide Abby was great, really informative and fun and we managed to find all the animals, even witnessed two males lions chasing a warthog and sadly, two lionesses who had just caught a baby giraffe (sad) We enjoyed the evening drives and drinking gin amongst the giraffes. Breakfast was great, lunch for me could have been lighter, it really was 3 full meals a day and Im not used to that. altogether a great experience.

I had high hopes for this reserve but feel rather nonplussed having ‘escaped’. The reserve is huge, but there is one pride of lions, one group of elephants and 3 cheetahs. It was a cattle farm that has been given over to these animals, but it just felt like a big UK safari park. One is not permitted to walk from accommodation to dining area and you have to call reception to get an escort. Even though the lodge wasn’t full, no one answered our call for 30 minutes and so we started to walk and were chastised by the escort who eventually arrived. If you wish so do other activities they are chargeable…and without being able to go for walks, there is very little to do. The food was generally good, and restaurant staff charming. We were there for 3 nights…6 game drives….but the guide seemed bored and not keen to engage with us.

We had such an incredible time whilst visiting Bukela. Our luxury tent was very comfortable and clean. The food was plentiful and good. Abbey was our ranger. She was very knowledgeable,great company as well as finding so many animals. Our final morning culminated in watching a cheetah hunt. Great place to visit.

Touren waren ok allerdings 5 Uhr aufstehen nicht wirklich unsers. Essen unterirdisch für den hohen Preis. Sonst gab es Null,null was man machen kann. Hatten 2 Nächte gebucht, Eine mehr als genug. Keine Weiterempfehlung ,schade hatten uns mehr versprochen

The hotel is great, however the management in the property is quite condescending and the whole experience did not feel genuine. It felt more like a money printing experience geared for their benefit not yours. Beyond the management, the staff was kind, but could use more training as they did not take hints / respect boundaries. We found ourselves having to say "no thank you" or "please its ok, give us some space" a handful of times. Having stayed at another 5 start lodge after this, the experience was night and day.
