Overall good experience while staying 5 nights here. room was a bit noisy because its connected to the neighbor room and also beside a crowded road. Lobby was hot, elevator was slow. And male receptionists could be more friendly :)

The Grand Paragon felt like a hotel that was once the best in town. Alas, its grandeur had faded and the rooms had fallen into disrepair. Cons - We stayed on the 6th floor and the smell of cigarette was overwhelming as soon as we stepped off the elevator. - The smell of cigarette continued into our room. - The walls and furnitures were covered in dents. - A single ottoman was the only available seating. - The bathroom faucet was unhinged. - The shower did not drain. We took pauses during our showers to prevent flooding. - The toiletries were of the lowest quality we had experienced in our lives. - The towels were stained and ragged. - The safe was not operational because it did not have batteries inside. - The batteries for the remote for the AC was also out of juice. - The wifi connection was unstable and painfully slow. - The hotel's website was outdated in terms of its amenities offered as they no longer offer airport shuttle services. Pros - We issues with the remote for the AC at the front desk and they were prompt to come with replacement batteries. - We could buy soap and shampoo from the grocery store in the mall downstairs, Grand Lucky. - The bed was comfortable. - Our address was easy to find for all Grab and Gojek drivers. There was a paper in our room indicating that the hotel was currently in renovation, although we saw no evidence of constructions of any kind. We definitely would not stay here again until said-renovation was completed. Perhaps the overpass to the Starbucks across the street would also be rebuilt by then, along with the new section of MRT.

The location of the hotel is superb. It’s right at the centre of the old town. We have booked four rooms for our stay. The other three rooms were perfectly fine. Just that my room has a lot of cockroaches. But the hotel staff swiftly changed a room for me.
