White Hart Inn

Very friendly and welcoming, accommodating staff who are helpful with requests and a fab location right in the centre. Nice breakfasts. Rooms are exceptional value, albeit some areas / parts of the rooms are a little rough around the edges. Would definitely visit again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Very nice hotel with friendly staffs.

Ive lived in Wells for nearly 8 years and this premises has had many different attempts at making it a success in that time, and none have come close to providing the sort of pub that Wells has needed and Aid and his team now run. It only stocks regularly changing real ale and cider along with some wines and spirits, no commercial pumps here, and the food that I've had has always been fresh and delicious, especially the tripple roast on a Sunday. Theres a small courtyard which catches the afternoon/evening sun in the summer and occasionaly has music outside there too. Also musically, there is a large venue room upstairs where regular live music of all descriptions can be found, from tribute bands to local musicians and even electronic nights, as well as comedy events. I recently went to the party mentioned in a previous review and its disappointing to see such a negative response as people seemed to be very much enjoying the excellent food provided and the well stocked upstairs bar, which has plenty of choice as well as plenty of staff. I don't think its unreasonable for people to be expected to move on at 1.30 am when the license is till 1am and there are people in the hotel and neighbourly buildings trying to sleep. Its the centre of Wells not the Las Vegas *****!

My friend and I booked the function room for a very special occasion...........Our 55 Years of Friendship and joint Birthday celebration. We booked 6 hotel rooms, the function room and Top buffet for 55 guests and the bar. The evening started well but when the buffet was put out I felt the standard was very poor, and they couldn't even put a tablecloth on the table. At Midnight we were told to vacate the room and go to the bar downstairs and at 1am told to put our drinks into plastic cups and go out in the garden and at 1.15am TOLD to go to bed. We went upstairs reluctantly as we were paying guests and my 41 year old Son who had traveled from Dublin to perform a Magic show (He is a professional Magician) and after entertaining the bar staff was TOLD to go to bed also and was told by the manager that if he didn't go then he would be asked to leave the hotel. In the morning we all came down for breakfast to find warm food, poorly presented, missing items that arrived after we had finished (hash browns) and waiting too long for it to arrive. My overall experience was very disappointing, the attitude of the Manager was very Bad and needless to say we will NOT be frequenting the White Heart Hotel in Wells ever again.

What an amazing array of bees and ciders served by very knowledgeable friendly and engaging staff. We went two days in a row to make sure we were able to try their extensive range of craft beers. Flights of thirds were available which made it easy to try the beers and ciders. There was a choice of 18 each day including a sour beer and a delicious IPA Everlasting Ember. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone interested in trying a variety of beers and ciders. An excellent pub!

Shout out to Wilbur in the bar who made our lunch visit a great experience. He kindly discussed the various ciders with me, let me sample a bit, and ultimately recommend the best cider I have ever had. His positive energy and can-do attitude is a credit to The White Hart Inn

We had a short stop over in Wells and stayed in the White Hart Inn for 2 nights. Amazing location just opposite the Cathedral. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcoming (Ty) and explained places to visit locally and further afield. Our room was great value for the price and was clean and tidy. We also had breakfast which was great and you could choose anything from a full English to having just cereals / continental. We would definitely book again.
