Very comfortable bed. Lovely toiletries. Shower was owerri and hot. Nice welcome from the staff. Great location to walk into the city. The restaurant served a lovely evening meal and quite reasonable. Room was very large with comfortable seating.

I booked a one night stay at the Wells, Somerset hotel on Sun 29/12/24 for myself & my wife. As my wife is recovering from knee surgery we booked a Premier Plus room, as all the details & photographs on the website clearly suggest that the bathrooms in these rooms have a walk in shower as opposed to a shower over a bath (which is completely inaccessible for my wife at present). EG from the FAQs section - What's the difference between a Standard room and a Premier Plus room at Premier Inn? Treat yourself to even more comfort, convenience and connectivity by choosing one of our Premier Plus rooms. Our enhanced rooms are perfect for business trips and special occasions - or whenever you fancy a little more from your stay. As well as a super-comfy kingsize bed, enjoy extra amenities like an improved workspace and vanity area. Plus, a luxurious rainfall shower and faster Wi-Fi !! (Note Rainfall SHOWER, not ShowerHEAD). See screenshot below of the bathroom per the website, again suggesting a walk-in shower. So we were extremely surprised to find that the room we had booked did NOT , in fact, have a walk in shower, & were advised by the hotel manager that the only rooms with a walk in shower are accessible rooms. Having booked without the option to cancel, we had no option but to accept the room, but my wife was unable to use the shower. It’s worth noting that the shower is over a very deep bath (ie higher than a standard bath), making it particularly difficult to negotiate in order to use the over bath shower even without any physical restrictions. If accessibility is an issue (as it currently is for my wife) I strongly suggest you book a different hotel (& check any details on their websites for accuracy). An additional point to note was the inclusion of Faster Wi-Fi (as per the FAQs section quoted above). When I came to use the Ultimate Wi-Fi I was advised that it would cost me £5/24 hours & was not included in the room rate as suggested. The standard Wi-Fi signal was very poor ; perhaps this is an attempt to “persuade” guests to pay for the Ultimate Wi-Fi ? On the whole an extremely poor stay & certainly not the one we thought we had booked.

Hotel was in a great position with an easy walk into Wells town centre. The rooms were very clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable as always. The restaurant had a good menu and the whole experience was made better by Luke who looked after, he couldn’t do enough to make our stay very enjoyable. He deserves a pay rise!

As always, a great stay in a premier Inn. Room was clean and ready early, friendly staff, very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is in in walking distance to town so a great location. Often stay at premier Inns as we know that we can rely on them.

Great little hotel, clean tidy and a short walk into the city centre. Ray the awesome chef made us very welcome and accommodated all our needs. The man in reception was so helpful, sorry I can’t remember his name! Would definitely return to this hotel.

We stayed here a few times, mainly because of the location, a short walking distance to Wells centre. This hotel would be so much better if fresh air could come in. Every time we come here it seems a bit worse. No windows can be opened anywhere in the building. It seems that they spray some sort of chemical airfreshener in the hallways to the rooms. Probably to mask the smell from the carpets ? Because of this I could hardly breathe walking to the room and ended up with headaches Fortunately the air in the room was a bit better because of a ventilation system in the rooms. When you order breakfast, they ask if you have any allergies. Maybe they should concider this possibility before spraying the hallways.
