Riverview Motel

Lovely hosts very friendly. Motel room was very spacious. Spotlessly clean and well appointed. It's not a modern motel and from the road you might feel like maybe not but go in and you'll find lovely people with great service and a large nice motel room. We were in unit 12 away from the road. Easy walk to shops.

Large complex with many units, and a variety of sizes. 15 min walk into the CBD. We had 3 x garden studios for 2, and a 2-bedroom unit for 4. All opened out onto a large grassy area, with an available BBQ. Kerry was very helpful at all times. The units were of a good size, with comfy beds and pillows. Kitchen facilities were standard. Laundry facilities were available.

Well, I'm not sure where to begin, it was concerning that this motel was TA's 2nd top rated motel for Whanganui and it may well confirm why we had never spent any time there, because we had never found anywhere nice that we wanted to stay at in Whanganui. However, we booked this place at short notice (during the summer season). Dated does not even begin to describe it! The grounds are also pretty lacklustre. The room did have a view of the river from the lounge, it lacks any aircon so (inefficient) fans were in placed in the bedroom and living area. The only thing that it had going for it was its location to both town and the Sarjeant Gallery by foot. It was very clean but doors are chipped, and overall, an unattractive place; the stair carpets are in desperate need of a good clean (or replacement). The one bedroom unit also had a couple of single beds in the living area opposite the kitchen which must be the original kitchen based on the cabinetry (there was a huge cupboard that was completely empty??. A wall even had a telephone hanging on it (unsure if it worked)!! We're really keen to come back to visit Whanganui but CANNOT recommend this place to anyone. That said, it was sold out during our stay, and we have travelled far and wide and stayed at different ranges of accommodation but this one is quite close to the bottom of my all-time lows unfortunately.

This property was very comfortable for a one night stay I much appreciated the 8 ounce container of milk for morning coffee Location across the street from river walk is excellent

Stay was ok, convenient for the town and facilities.Bed a little soft for our comfort other than that a good stay. Local info spot on ang access to museum,gallery etc very easy.

Room was very clean and the staff so friendly.
