It was an experience however, we wont return.
£97 for the night wasn’t even the cheapest in the area!
Its very tired, dirty and run down.
We booked an accessible room and was given first floor with no lift. Luckily not in a wheelchair chair but still had low mobility. It wasn’t great I fell downstairs on the first evening as the tread on the stairs are very narrow, the carpet is up and the tape is barely holding it together. The place is literally held together by gaffa tape, I struggle to see how they are meeting basic health and safety. The room Had sockets off the wall which were live. Shower had parts missing from it. Bed bases broken and dirty.
No heating working so was given a floor heater with no pat testing on it. Holes in the wall.
List goes on.
There was some good bits
The staff are very friendly.
Breakfast had a good selection for the buffet. No hot coffee or hot selection though.
Parking was free.
Good views of the river.
This place has potential to be amazing due to the location. But needs about £100k spending on it.
Also:
Be warned of the recommended Taxis from the hotel, they are very expensive. £64 to go 4 miles, they were called Go Green taxi, it wasn’t even late at 4pm in the afternoon! When asked for the meter was told they don’t have one as private hire!

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location! The riverside setting makes for a lovely view! We stayed in a spacious suite and were accommodated with an extra bed with no problem at all. Decor is a little dated and the accommodation could have been a little cleaner however, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast was great!
We would stay here again, thank you for a lovely stay!

Had a lovely lunch in the bar. Enjoyed looking at the river. Some different items on the menu. Prompt, friendly and efficient service. Good food and wine, reasonably priced. Only downside was having to find £2 cash for car park, this is refunded off bill. Looking forward to going again.

Went to the Shillingford bridge hotel for Sunday lunch today, food was excellent, service was good with friendly servers, id say the best roast dinner I'd had in a restaurant. I'm surprised not many diners. It's such a lovely hotel, but could do with a good paint job in the function room to make it look as good as the bar area

Had a lovely stay, very friendly and welcoming. The room was overlooking the Thames and the view was beautiful. The room was lovely too and the bathroom especially so. We had dinner and everything was delicious so was breakfast. Have absolutely no complaints and would definitely stay again.

I'm just going to say it - this place is wonderful! My little sister had her wedding here and honestly you cannot fault the place. The location is gorgeous, the wedding venue is perfect, the food was incredible and the staff - absolutely wonderful; attentive, polite, professional and just an absolute delight. In particular praise must be showered on the waiters/barmen for the day - Felix and Benjamin who were just absolutely lovely; so professional yet wonderfully courteous and friendly from the moment the day began to the end of the night, they were the perfect people to work at a wedding and we can not praise them highly enough. Ali, at breakfast, and who also helped set up the stuff for the wedding was likewise a godsend and so helpful and thoughtful. The chef for the day needs a Michelin Star as he food was THAT good, which is hard enough to do at the best of times, let alone when serving an entire wedding party! And Betina the wedding coordinator is an absolute master at pulling everything together into making the day magical, and exactly what the bride had envisioned. I've read on here people complained about the rooms being tired. I disagree - our room was gorgeous - four poster, river view, freestanding clawfoot bath, what more do people want?! All I can say is we had the perfect day and that was because of the staff, so thank you to everyone who made the day so perfect and magical!!!

Just got back from Schillingford Bridge hotel where I stayed last night with my gf. We both loved it there. The location is unbelievable and I am so glad that we upgraded to a river view room. Within an hour of arriving my gf was swimming in the river, whilst I watched from our room. The river is just a hundred metres away. Our room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed it immensely. The staff were attentive, the food and wine was great and the portions were generous. The following morning we had a huge full English breakfast although there were plenty of other options. The breakfast was lovely. This hotel is ideally situated right on the riverbank, has ample parking ,great rooms and helpful polite staff. A wonderful place to stay.

Outstanding staff who could not do anymore to ensure we had a comfortable stay, give them 5 stars. Food was good too. Those are the best parts. The room allocated was not well maintained. Curtain pull back hanging off the wall, chair legs very unstable, wasn't going to even attempt to sit on. 4 poster bed, without the usual drapes was also very unstable. The frame was extremely wobbly. Felt like the whole thing would collapse as soon as l got into bed. Decor was very dated, very "out there". We were moved to a different room, which was also very dated. But comfortable. Sadly unable to shower on the morning of our departure as no hot water. Just left, never to return. Shame as its a perfect location right on the river Thames.

We had an amazing afternoon tea at the hotel, the setting is beautiful right by the river. You can take a walk on the tow path, parking is controlled but if going to the hotel there is a parking tablet in the lobby. The service was excellent, the staff were so polite and helpful, could not do more to accommodate us. The food was delicious and i would certainly recommend it. Overall, a fantastic experience and made my mums day whose birthday we were celebrating.
