Fabulous Bed and Breakfast
Wonderful stay- only for one night unfortunately. Bed was so comfortable with super silky sheets. The food in the restaurant was amazing and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

A lovely birthday dinner with a small group of friends . Drinks, food, service and ambiance were all wonderful. In fact, everything was excellent. Check out the bar scene... Talk about cozy! A wonderful, if slightly off the beaten path, gem of an inn! Thanks... See you again... Soon!

Booked the room (#5) on the day of via my iPhone as the front desk attendant had unfortunately not been trained on how to book a walk in guest. Nonetheless, we had a great night's stay (decent bed & shower) after a delicious dinner in their restaurant! Only thing that would have made it perfect is breakfast since in reading reviews, they apparently did used to offer. Currently they have self-serve coffee & tea + some stale danishes.

Just had dinner at the Inn's restaurant. Second time I have been there. The 3 of us had a wonderful evening. Ate in the bar at the table. Very charming bar. Allie, bartender/server couldn't have been nicer or more professional. She had 4 patrons eating at the bar and another group of 4 came in for drinks before eating in the dining room. She handled all 11 of us with ease. Excellent drinks. I'm a martini snob and she nailed it. My bro in law had the roast chicken special and my sister had the lobster Alfredo special. I had the Flatbread with fig, chicken, fontina, parmesean and arugula. All of us were delighted with our meals. Excellent food excellent ambience. Go! Long live the Wakefield Inn!

We had been wanting to try this place for quite a while. We finally went and the food was incredible. We ordered Negroni cocktails to start. Neither the waitress nor the bartender knew what that was. I was surprised by this since the menu is Italian inspired. The cocktails came and they were perfect. We then had the nosh board which is basically a charcuterie board with great cheeses meats nuts spreads etc. is was fantastic. We also shared an arugula and goat cheese salad. Very good as well. For entrees we had the seared scallops and the Italian rib eye. We shared both and created a kind of surf and turf all was wonderful. Now the not so good part. The service was not so good. Our waitress was nice and knowledgeable of the menu, but not very attentive, spent a lot of time setting and clearing tables even though they seemed to have bus staff for this. Food runners brought us our food and we were never asked if we needed anything. I would have liked some black pepper on my salad. We ordered a bottle of wine which never came. When I finally tracked down the waitress, she said they were waiting for clean glasses. What? We were done with our meal and the wine didn’t come. A restaurant of this caliber you would think someone would have hand washed 2 wine glasses. Instead we cancelled the wine. The service kind of ruined the otherwise wonderful experience. The building is historic and very well preserved. Great ambiance. They also have small speak easy type bar that looked really cool, but it was too crowded for us to try. We will be back as the food makes up for any other shortcomings.
