The hotel has a quiet environment and is suitable for self-driving tours. The rooms are comfortable and clean. When taking a shower, you have to boil the water and wait about 5 minutes for hot water. It is a 10-minute walk from Wakayama Station and a 15-minute walk north to Don Quijote Wakayama. There is a small square 100 meters south where many children play. The hotel is very clean. The uncle at the front desk is very friendly and explains things carefully with a translator. Luggage can be stored in advance. The room has a bathtub and a special glass door. Breakfast is delivered to the room at the scheduled time. Very good accommodation experience.

Hotel is conveniently located on top of the train station and is connected to a mall. Love that they have free curry rice as well as a drink for those who stay with them. If you are parking, park at the rooftop and then walk over thru a connector which leads you to the conference/event halls. Thereafter, take the lift down to the lobby. If you don’t do this, you will have to do a bit of a walk around to reach the lobby. Parking is 1000yen per day but you have to have the ticket validated first at the lobby before you head out.

Complimentary breakfast is a plus. However, there is no Onsen or public bath. Bathroom is rather small.

Candeo is right on Wakayama-Shi Train station, which makes it incredibly convenient. Sound-proofing ensures perfect sleep and no disturbance from trains or traffic etc. The staff accepted early check-in at 2pm and were incredibly courteous, professional, English-speaking and kind. Really excellent.
Some large Japanese hotel chains are not entirely geared to the ”international market” and the attitude to non-Japanese guests can be less than ideal.
NOT CANDEO. The staff are comfortable with an international clientele, cheerful and welcoming. How wonderful!
The entire hotel is extremely clean and well-run. Everything says ”professional”. The flower arrangements on each floor are REAL. Flowers are extremely expensive in Japan.
The view from the reception area (Floor 11) is fantastic. The spa (Floor 12) is open air, with a great view and a magical feel.
I enjoyed my stay very much and I hope to return to Candeo soon.

YYip Chung YuValue for money. For the price paid. Can't complain much as got free driving from Kada station to the hotel.
Cons is need to get the pic from train station to call as the number on the Google map and the banner can't go through.
Recommended to use the hotel transport as walking is too far.
Pros everything. There is a laundry coin as well which save our life alot as we travel 3 weeks to Japan. Do note the awajima shrine is just beside this hotel. Must visit and do see the sunset and sunrise.
Cons far from station
RRomanIt is a good spot for a solo traveler. Capsules are clean. Towels are provided. There is a small tea and coffee area at the entrance. They also have Chinese-standard plug in the capsule which was handy. Also, I likes the smell of wood.
The worst part is that if you come before check-in, nobody is in there, meaning you will have to stroll around and wait for 16:00.
SSunrisedehongWhen a typhoon hits Wakayama, there are no people on the street. There is a 711 behind the hotel, which is very convenient. The room is larger than expected, with a separate toilet and washroom. There is a small window, you can see the outdoor scenery, it can be opened for ventilation, and there is no wind or rain, which is perfect for typhoon days. We brought our baby to stay and ordered two breakfasts. The grandpa at the front desk directly gave us six breakfast coupons for two days. We were so touched, especially when we rushed here in the wind and rain. The breakfast is very rich, and I like the cold tofu and curry rice the most. There is also a self-service drink machine, and the Calpis soda is great! Will stay here again if I have the chance!
GGuest UserI really like it here! The room is very cost-effective. There is also a Chinese-speaking sister at the front desk. She is very nice and gentle. The breakfast is also very rich. The location is right next to the station. It is a place I will choose to live again. The most important thing is that it is very clean! Sound insulation is also very good
PPeiyouThe usual Toyoko Inn standard, clean and tidy, first-class service, but the lobby is too small, and breakfast is served in the lobby, which is very crowded and affects the mood of enjoying breakfast.
GGuest UserI want to travel to a quiet neighborhood. I searched Trip.com while taking the train, read the reviews, booked in the evening and went right away.Compared to the cost, it is in the hotel, so the luxury of the hotel and the front desk are friendly and enjoy the hot springs. It was so good. It's amazing that there is such a place.. If you travel to Wakayama, you can hear it.
PPaddle UpstreamNothing impressive, small and dark. Okay for a single guy , not sure about ladies. Close to Wakayama-Shi station, so getting around is easy.
Rooms have no view, just looking at pipes dripping water. Room smells of smoke. Toilets are hard to get into as they are ‘caravan size’ toilets and showers. The bath tub is very high, not ideal for elderly folks as the showers are installed within. They do have a ioniser and demister in the room to get rid of bad air and foul smoke smell but not very effective. If you plan to spend most of the day out, it’s ideal.
LLiulangdexiaoazhuArrived in Wakayama in the evening, a quiet town. The stay time was short. I planned to rest in the middle of the trip, but the hotel was unexpectedly perfect. The room was very clean and spacious. There was a separate dressing room in the room, and you could also take a bath. In addition, the service was also perfect, and all kinds of toiletries were very complete. It is recommended for travelers who are passing through for a short time. It is a very cost-effective choice!
夢夢想是環遊世界The hotel owner's service is generally the same, a little impatient, obviously the phone number registered on the self-check-in machine is not my phone number, I have not registered, I don't know what's going on, the boss said that this is a very serious problem. In addition, I wanted to cancel the reservation because of my stomach pain, but because the order is not cancelled and refunded, even if the platform communicated with the boss, the boss still resolutely refused, so I felt a little bad, I could only go there on the same day to check in
Facilities: There is a bathtub, there are few places, the bed frame is wooden, the mattress is clean, there are small lights and small fans on the side of the bed, and the fan connection can be used as USB charging. There are two tables in the living room, wash basins, wash basins for combing, disposable toothbrushes, lockers, boiled water you can boil hot water yourself. The environment is 10 points clean, and there are not many people when I checked in. There are only two or three people in 10 beds.
GGuest User#Praise#For mosquito control measures, hotel smell, bedding comfort, location, toiletries, room lighting satisfaction; I like this hotel so much! It is also an ideal hotel! The so-called ideal is that every aspect is very practical! Although there is no breakfast, there is a refrigerator microwave in the room. It is very convenient to buy and eat at the nearby convenience store supermarket. The room is large and the bathroom is large, and the toiletries are complete to even the curling stick! The kettle said that the insulation can be kept warm for one night, not to mention that it is so cheap not far from the station! I will only live here on the West Line in the future. ps: This ideal hotel comes from a 40-generation hotel that has lived in various large and small Japanese hotels in a variety of sizes and sizes. Lightning avoidance and mentioning that this store has no elevator, large boxes of passengers should be cautious.
