This was one of the most spectacular hotel stays we have ever enjoyed. The hotel is essentially a village spread over around 350 stunning acres. The rooms are either in the main building, a classic historic Italian villa, or standalone villas on the estate. We had a two bedroom cottage which offered two bathrooms, a lovely kitchen and living room and large outdoor area including garden and well sized swimming pool. We were also given our own golf cart to travel between our villa and the main complex and elsewhere on the estate. There was lots on offer on the estate. We enjoyed a fantastic cooking class, making fresh pasta which we then had for lunch, and truffle hunting which was great fun and fruitful, complete with two specialist truffle dogs There was a high end restaurant and “Medieval” style banquet room on offer. We ate at both and they were both great and offering variety. Breakfast was served in the main house and excellent. As an alternative, food could be delivered to villas. There were also outdoor bar and restaurant options, offering amazing views of the Tuscan countryside, with availability weather dependent. There was an excellent gym, tennis courts, horse riding, beautiful spa, library, billiards room, pigs and chickens to visit, loads of walking paths, bees, a vegetable garden and more. There was also great art everywhere we went. The staff were all brilliant - friendly and helpful at all times - with a special mention for guest relationship manager Gigi who was just awesome.
