Hotels near The Walking Street, Vientiane

I've stayed here many times whilst working in Laos. It's a very central location so easy to walk to bars and restaurants int he city central area. The facilities and service are excellent. Good gym and pool never too busy. Room is ok but not quite as modern as some of the international 5* chains. The biggest plus is the staff. Very reliable, professional and friendly.

Check-in was fast. Room was big, clean, with refrigerator, electric hot pot, tv, nice sized closet space, and basic items a traveler might need. Staff are pleasant and spoke good English. Breakfast was decent. It would be good if there are more electric outlets in convenient locations. Due to concern of coronavirus, hotel offered face masks and hand sanitizer free of charge to hotel guests.

The hotel is not easy to find: LOCA app for local taxis does not see this hotel so the passengers must pin the location on the map themselves. The entrance is not really representative - guests have to enter the ”Mister Donut” shop which has predominant sign over the door while the information about the existence of the hotel in this place is just a banner on the pavement. The room price includes a breakfast but it is served from 8 am which makes it impossible to get for someone who must leave at this time (please note that many hotels serve breakfast from 7 am) Finally, in the description of the rooms there is no information that the rooms have actually NO hot water which - for some guests - might make significant difference. The staff speak very little English so any more sophisticated communication (beyond ”Good morning”) must be performed using translator apps.

Very accommodating front desk staff. Amenities you won't find it better than Vientiane Luxury Hotel are: The Gym, the pool, and the room cleanliness. It could use a little improvement on the elevator video display. It would be nice if the music from the display is more traditional like Lao bamboo flute or traditional music. Also show case the gym and pool more. 9.2 out of 10.

It was my first time going abroad, and I was very worried about the language barrier. But surprisingly, the people who came to pick me up at the airport were Chinese. The Laotians could understand what we said. There were Chinese restaurants, Chinese supermarkets, and vegetable markets nearby, which was very convenient. They also lent us their kitchen and used disposable face and bath towels, which was rare.

The staff is hospitable and friendly. The location is good, a 10 mins walk from the main market but there are a lot of restaurants along the river close by as well. The breakfast was simple but delicious. The room was clean but a little room maintenance is required (one of the sideboards was coming off, the shower gel bottle dispenser was broken, the shower to tap button was difficult to use). There is a fridge, electric kettle available. Overall was a satisfactory experience.

The stay at this hotel was perfect. From the moment I stepped into the hotel lobby, I felt the incomparable warmth and enthusiasm. The lobby is elegantly decorated, the staff smiles, and the service is thoughtful and meticulous, making people feel like spring breeze. Especially the front desk staff, the check-in procedure is efficient and fast, and they patiently answer various questions, providing me with a lot of practical suggestions, so that the newcomer I will soon familiarize myself with the surrounding environment.

Best hotel that we stayed at in Lao. It has been set up mainly for Chinese tourists and business people. We enjoyed the accommodation that much we stayed 15days instead of the original 4 nights booking. The rooms where very well set up with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Toiletries, water, bath towels included hand towels and face washers. Found comfy gowens and slippers, even 2 gas masks???? That was a concern 😟. The room was a good size with table and chairs, plus a nice comfy chair to relax. The cleaning staff where very good and very friendly. The reception and security staff where very helpful and friendly. TV was set up totally for Chinese visitors, only down fall. Would have been good to have satellite TV to include other guests. The pool was very good plus cleaned regularly. The gym needs a total revamp. Equipment was old and not working. General maintenance and cleaning of the rooms, hallways and entry was very good. A little bit of mould in the grout joints was the only thing, but not as bad as other accommodation that I've seen.. A good monthly clean would keep this problem under control. The breakfast included was pretty boring, which was a shame. Overall, I would highly recommend.

This residence is located behind itecc in Vientiane. It's quiet because it's not a tourist area, and the room has a washing machine and balcony, so it's great for long-term stays. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good, but you have to call Tapsi to move around, and there are no stores nearby yet, so buy snacks in advance.
