I really don't think I can improve on the past several reviews, except to say our experience was much the same. My wife and I LOVED our brief stay at Manoir de la Malartie and only wish we had more time there. The chateau and all its décor and surrounding gardens are gorgeous and immaculate. Our suite - the Milande, overlooking the pool, gardens and Dordogne River - was spacious, beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. The terraced gardens are so beautiful they beg you to grab a bottle of wine and just sit back and soak it all in - which we happily did. The owners and our hosts, Ouafaa and Daniel, were beyond charming and hospitable. Our initial reservation process and checking in and out was a breeze; casual and free from the business-like formality and document processing that usual accompanies a hotel. It was clear they take great pride both in their beautiful home and in sharing it with their guests. Ouafaa helped us with dinner reservations, and she and Daniel surprised us and the few other guests with an impromptu aperitif and hors d'oeuvres party in the garden one afternoon. If you are thinking of visiting the Perigord and Dordogne River valley, you should. And you should make Malartie your home base. We cannot wait to come back for a longer stay!

Such a great clean tidy friendly hotel. I was the Granny with my family and it’s a great all encompassing place to stop en route to our home in the Pyrenees. Easy to do the route through the Auverne which is fabulous but so glad we did the detour and did the Toulouse route to Prades /Urbanya our destination. Hotel Oustale won’t disappoint I promise. My husband and I have booked for our return stop for 2 night stop in October en route (compulsory) to UK.
