I recently visited the Bar Lounge at the Gritti Palace in Venice and was served by Mirko. He made my experience truly special with his friendly and professional service. Mirko’s expertise in cocktails is amazing; he crafted delicious drinks that perfectly matched my preferences. His warm and welcoming nature, along with interesting conversations about Venice, made my evening unforgettable. I highly recommend visiting the Bar Lounge and asking for Mirko – he will ensure you have an exceptional time.

This hotel is really lovely. The location is great, the rooms are beautiful and well appointed and the staff is always at your service! The staff were some of the best I've stayed with in all of my travels. On the second morning, the hostess at the restaurant greeted my husband and I, and the other couple we were with by name. From check in to check out, superior service. We absolutely loved having breakfast on the terrace located the grand canal. Stunning! We enjoyed cocktails there as well. Lovely views and loved watching all the boats go by. The rooms are very nice with some special treats like plus bathrobes, heated tile on the bathroom floor and a towel warming bar. We enjoyed our stay.

One of the worst hotels I have been in. The staff was rude. Our group was not allowed to meet in the lobby. We were told it was too small. I have been in many hotels with smaller lobbies and our Tauck group was allowed to meet there. One evening I just wanted something light to eat so I went to the bar and ordered a Caprese salad and a drink. When I received the bill it was over 100 euros. There was no breakdown. Our tour guide was able to find out that there is a 12 euro seating charge. Never have I encountered that. Also, I had been charged for someone else's drink. The original amount was immediately charged to my credit card but a refund did not appear for two weeks. Lastly, to use the shower you had to step into the tub. The tub wall was quite high and there were no grab bars.

It was our first time to Venice. We splurged with Marriott points & euros for an 8 night stay at the Gritti Palace and a "Landmark" room with a view of the Grand Canal. The first floor room (room 111) had very high ceilings, very comfortable king bed and large marble bathroom with 2 sinks, large shower, and separate tub. The windows/doors opened onto a small balcony which overlooked the outdoor terrace and the fabulous Grand Canal. We often hung out on the small balcony drinking wine and watching the gondolas', vaporetto (water bus), and water taxis cruise the Grand Canal. Pros & Cons: 1. Ahead of our trip, we arranged with the concierge for a person to meet us at the Venice airport luggage claim, drive us to a water taxi waiting for us at the Gritti's private dock by the airport, and then the water taxi deliver us directly to the Gritti's boat dock. Since it was our first time to Venice, it was definitely worth the 392 euros (2 people & 3 pieces of luggage). 2. Concierge desk was very helpful and during our stay they recognized us and what room we were in. 3. We got a welcome bottle of prosecco on our first day and on another day a fruit tray. 4. Breakfast buffet is extensive but expensive. The full buffet is 110 euros. We went only twice. 5. We visited the Bar Longhi once for a glass of wine but due to the rain the out door patio was not open. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Venice and at the Gritti Palace. We recommend getting a room with a Grand Canal view and balcony.

I went to show this hotel where I have stayed many times to a friend. We ordered tea for two and a large bottle of sparkling water. Tea arrived, water did not. The waiter was so snooty and rude as though we did not belong there. I was embarrassed as I had told my friend how splendid the hotel was. I will never take friends there again nor will I ever stay there again. There are many welcoming beautiful hotels in Venice, this is no longer

Many times it is the little things that distinguish a hotel and the fantastic breakfast pastries to us were it. Probably the best (and most varied) we have ever had in our decades of travel. So many wonderful things on the buffet, that there's no reason to order anything from the cooked menu. The room was lovely and very quiet and as others have said, a great staff. Of course, the location is not to be beat.

Seriously some of the BEST service we have ever encountered-- and we travel a lot! The staff at the Gritti Palace are warm, helpful, kind... every single request we made, no matter how big or how small, was met with, "Yes, of course!" It was done promptly and cheerfully-- whether booking a dinner reserve, cleaning the room, helping us with luggage (and even a strange delivery). No task was beneath or beyond them. If you are going to Venice (and can afford it) you MUST stay at The Gritti Palace. Perfect location, beautiful rooms but, most of all, impeccable service!!

What a wonderful experience! My wife and I went to visit friends in Italy. The hotel reached out to me ahead of time asking about any special requests or other needs. We arrived early after flying from the US; I had no expectation of our room being ready. We were given a Grand Canal view room. There were fresh flowers and a bottle of Prosecco in the room. The staff is one of the best I have experienced. Not only would they remember my name and room number, but they would remember my drink order. I went to get my wife a coffee on the second day and the hostess asked if I wanted, "a cafe Americano to go" before I could say anything. Truly a special experience.

The hotel breathes history and is magnificently furnished. The staff is very friendly, especially the reception and concierge who always strive to achieve the best for their guests. For example, we were recommended a great city guide (Luigina Romor). The terrace on the Grand Canal is perfect for both breakfast and evening drinks. The location near St. Mark's Square couldn't be much better. The Gritti is still the great classic in Venice.
